Yep. And possibly buying votes from someone? Family of criminals? lol

It's an amazing look into the liberal "progressive" mindset, the state is in horrible shape. Industry and employers have all fled the state. The tax paying middle class are fleeing the state in droves and yet the only things they can think to do is come up with ways to make it worse. To make more people want to leave.

San Francisco will be competing with NYC as the new SJW DA has as his top priority, ending Cash required Bail. There's a lot of stupidity amongst this generation of legal/political minds, we're heading fast towards repeating the tragedies of the 1970's.

Not a great mystery why the Dirty Harry-movies took place in SF and Death Wish was set in NYC Roll Eyes

This is a Soros policy put in place by his funding the right people and candidates(ie B'more, Chicago and the Texas and California AGs.

The theory is that that the poor criminals(of color) can't make bail, only Whitey can. This ain't fair so they figured out a way to keep the criminals in the neighborhoods and not the jails. Cook County Jail has closed whole wings on this crap. Crime is skyrocketing and no one can figure out why.

AG Barr spoke to this ascerting that Soros is behind much of the hate towards LEOS.

Alaska tried the same thing, it failed miserably, crime skyrocketed, it's since been mostly repealed.

One of the early steps in implementing communism is to disrupt the community by encouraging lawlessness. All is going according to plan.

Apparently the solution to "mass incarceration" in NY is to release everyone.

Understand that those of us who choose to live in Upstate NY are at the mercy of 57% of the state’s population that occupy 3% of the state’s land mass.

It’s a beautiful state but the politicians and lunatic left ruin it for the rest of us.

Just for the heck of it, find a photo of this pair... try the Wall Street Journal.

New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins

Helped me to understand the SJW thinking about the new laws.

The term you're looking for is "chaos". The left seeks to create chaos everywhere it can to break down social structures and to lay the ground work for additional expansion of government (i.e. socialism).

I'm not a lawyer or, legal-wonk, but, wasn't bail the legal mechanism that insured the accused would return for their hearing?

With this removal of a financial penalty for non-appearance, are we going to see an increase in bench warrants?

I feel sorry for you. I've left Massachusetts for good. I couldn't win and wasn't ready too start shooting.

Good luck.

This is all part of a nationwide effort to "reform" bail laws. The Left feels that cash bond requirements are discriminatory towards minorities and keeps them in jail unnecessarily. It is happening in Chicago, NY, LA, Philadelphia, San Francisco etc. Anywhere where Democrats are the District Attorneys or hold power over the criminal justice system.

Uh-huh. Do they get to go the game before or after they go to jail? That's going to matter, see, for all those frightened youth who are desperately trying to decide whether to come in or just promise to show up the next time they're arrested.
