I was lead to believe we traded for that land fair and square.

I think this calls for a title search.

Yup, you beat me to it.

The natives were very violent towards each other. Whichever tribe was on a piece of land when white Europeans displaced them were far from the original occupants.

There's evidence of at least one much earlier migration to the continent. We can assume the ancestors of the current natives stole their land and possibly exterminated them.

They weren't great stewards of nature in many cases. They just didn't have the population size to destroy it.

Those two G-D Commies are so arrogant that they are probably cooking up plans as we speak to offer the indigenous tribes ice cream, gift cards, t-shirts, beads and other trinkets, and free factory tours as fair ‘compensation’ for rights to the stolen land that they occupy.

Further, to live up to their “Progressive Values” (direct from the B&J website). . .

“Capitalism and the wealth it produces do not create opportunity for everyone equally. We recognize that the gap between the rich and the poor is wider than at any time since the 1920s. We strive to create economic opportunities for those who have been denied them and to advance new models of economic justice that are sustainable and replicable.”

. . .they should hire dozens and dozens and dozens of Native Americans and can still maintain their corporate bottom line by reducing the salaries and benefits of ALL of their current work force accordingly so they can share their good-fortune with the underprivileged members of their commune-ity.

Lizzie “1/1024th indian” Warren can probably help mediate the discussion.

Karma is a bitch. I hope the chief presses forward with his claim. B&J's deserves everything they get if this blows up in their face. I'd love to see the Abenaki tear down the HQ and build whatever historical housing is appropriate for that tribe.

I would suggest an Outhouse.

So if Unilever bought B&J, whey are they letting the dirty assed commies still speak for them and have progressive values on their website?

It's either incredibly poor corporate governance on Unilever's part, or Unilever is on-board with it for the ESG score.

The pyramid-like temple structure found in the valley that is now occupied by Norris lake in NE TN, for one example.

When it was discovered in 1930, the Cherokee explained that a tribe of mound builders were there originally, but they killed and drove them out.

Unless you take a very narrow view of the history of mankind (like some Abrahamic religions that believe the world is only 6000 years old) - or, if you live in a very remote and desolate area, you are most likely living on land that was taken by several peoples for thousands of years.

What I'm saying is, unless you are descended from some indigenous tribe of Pacific islander, the chances that you are living on "stolen" land is extremely high.

One of the biggest issues with American history is that we actually teach it, exactly the way it happened (mostly). We expose our scars and our truth in classrooms the way other nations never do. Do you think Japan teaches the rape of Nanking in their classes? Do you think Russia teaches about the pogroms and collectivization of agriculture in their country?

Other nations range from white-washing the past to outright denial of their true history. So American kids grow up with self-hate and guilt that children of other nations don't have. Not because their ancestors didn't do the same or worse...but because their education failed to mention it.

So our kids grow up believing we are terrible colonizers and that everyone else just lives in some bullshit utopia that doesn't exist.

No one has mentioned B&J’s support to free convicted cop killer Mumia Abu Jamal. They’ve been on my ignore list for at least 30 years.

Ben & Jerrys has a "Head of Global Activism Strategy" executive, some bullshit I have never heard of before.

B&J has been a commie joke of a company since the 80s. I remember tasting their ice cream when they were brand new and not liking it, Haagen Daas was 10X better. And even back then, they were a weird ass hippie company anyways.

Ben's not really in the ice cream business anymore. He's moved on to cannabis.

Ben's new non-profit marijuana company is Ben's Best BLNZ. f He's donating to the most woke and liberal causes he can find.

Good lord, are these idiots tone deaf to what is going on. A little situational awareness goes a long way to keeping your brand from getting tanked.

Now that B&J has been called out by the tribe whose land their factory sits on, what do they do now? Shouldn't they expect all their liberal zealot customers whom they targeted with their woke Tweet to be up in arms if they do not follow through? I suppose not. They know that all those target customers are just as hypocritical as they are and do not actually expect or desire any real action to occur. For them, the act of virtue signaling is sufficient. If it makes some fat pig with pink hair feel better while she's gulping down her fifth pint of ice cream with her cats, that's enough to B&J to declare it a marketing success.

So they helped create a monster that wishes to consume them. Sounds like a book plot…. If only they had the wisdom to avoid creating monsters.
