I gotta say that I didn’t think the Giants would be in 1st place ever with the Dodgers and Padres in their division…

So the Rays (who play the Phillies tonight) are playing at George M. Steinbrenner Field this season which is the Yankees spring training field and it's got some interesting quirks it turns out:

Hey, PASig...
How about them Cardinals? Big Grin
Going for 10 in a row tonight...

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The Phillies are, without a doubt, THE MOST frustrating Bipolar Disorder playing team on the planet.

One night they are crushing it, the next night they are the Bad News Bears...it drives me CRAZY. No consistency whatsoever. Confused

Mariners are in a free fall. Had an above average starting pitching staff for the last 3-4 years. Completely worn them out trying to give up a run or two since their offense completely sucked. Now four of the five pitchers are hurt or spent. The GM team are idiots. Doh.

This is pretty funny. He was a pitcher for the Phillies last year at this time:

Stros finally broke a losing streak last night.
Still running a decent record overall, I think. Haven't kept up with it as much this season.

Currently up 9-1 against Washington, in the 8th.

My two favorite teams have been in a post all-star slump with the Tigers at 5-8 and Stros at 5-7. Both still lead their divisions, but:
  • the Rangers are the hottest team since break (8-3) so they're gaining ground on the Stros.
  • the Royals are tied for 9th hottest team since the break (7-5) so they've gained some ground on the Tigers

And the guy they received in the trade was playing against the Orioles affiliate in Bowie, MD and just changed clubhouse too.

This last homestead was a painful sign....it's time to sell-off who they can and look to the future. Considering the talent-potential they had, they should've been able to stay in contention but, things don't always work out which is why the game is played. I really like Yaz but his best days are behind him and the team needs to evaluate who's remaining by slapping some reality into them.

Suarez damn near lead the league in strike outs for two years while playing for a Mariners a couple years ago.
He has inflated numbers playing in AZ this year.

Playing in seattle is a whole different deal. I guess the idiots running the show there forget. What a bunch of dipshits.

Liked the Naylor move though Razz

Suarez will be a plus and you're lucky to have a freewheeling owner who will gamble to win. Reds are pennypinchers.

Suarez should have went back to the Reds. Reds got a gold glove third baseman from the Pirates, but they needed his bat.
Elly can't do it by himself. I am a little biased!
