Thanks again guys. It feels like there is always something missing now. He spent time at grandma’s and it felt like he was missing but we knew he’d be back. He spent time at the vets but we knew he’d be back. Now his gone and it’s the knowing that he won’t be back is the saddest part. We had time to prepare for this but it doesn’t change the sadness. Eventually we will get a second dog but it will be awhile. Our other pup is sad. As big of a bitch as she was to him sometimes, I’m in some way glad to see that she misses him because it meant she actually liked him. (Not that anyone couldn’t like him) Our house is quiet for now. Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.

Very sorry. “It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.” –Anonymous
