Then why are you here? There's no pr0n, 'cept gun, power tool, cars and the like, and the cat videos will more likely be found in Enough with the cat pictures Or are you just lookin' to start a scrap?
Not really. If the OP's post and the follow-ups to it are stupid, then so's Stlhead's complaint, as his assumptions are no more valid than those of anybody else. "America is at that awkward stage. This. I (obviously) don't know how the communications have gone between the OP and this "buyer", but the threat to "out you on the internet" raises a red flag. At first blush, it sounds like he's trying to alarm you put you on the defensive. Similarly, I had a coworker who would have packages sent to her at work so that they would not be sitting on her porch all day long. Unfortunately, corporate mail room staff fall into the same category as above. Packages would get delivered to the campus and get misdirected for days. The last straw for her was a package that did make it to her desk when she was away - and was stolen by another employee. ![]() _____________________________________________________________________ “One of the common failings among honorable people is a failure to appreciate how thoroughly dishonorable some other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them.” – Thomas Sowell

The only fact I need to know that the buyer is an idiot is that he sent a very large amount of cash through the mail. If that alone is not true, then this whole thread is pointless. Again this is a discussion board. The OP presented a scenario and asked for advice. We have commented with the information at hand. Should we instead just say, "sorry, can't comment because my fallback position must be that you're a liar until I hear the whole story from the other guy as well." Just preposterous. Get that, "I'm the only enlightened poster in this thread" crap outta here. After all, you already passed judgement on the OP that he is stiffing the buyer. With what we know that is a blatantly absurd statement. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

I went to the UPS store today and also talked to a postal mail carrier who happened to be there. Not that I had to but I wanted to help the guy out to find his money. The mail carrier called her boss and he looked up the tracking number and he said that the sender did not put the box number on the envelope. So right now his money is either on the way back to him or it is sitting at the bottom of a mail bin somewhere. This guy really went out of his way to make trouble for himself.

If the buyer sent cash then he is an idiot. I don't really need his side of the story as there is no excuse for sending cash, especially in large amounts, via regular mail. I wouldn't even send cash certified mail but if I had to send cash at the very least I would require a signature. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

I have been scammed on eBay like this before. I sold an item and the buyer said it was broken. They supposedly sent it back. They sent me a tracking number showing it delivered in my city. I never got anything. They filed a complaint with EBay who looked at the evidence and sided with them. I decided to do some digging and went to the post office. They ran a trace and turns out it was sent to a hotel a few blocks from where I live. I went there and spoke with the manager and it was just en envelope they received not a package. So this guy knowing the usps tracking only shows a city sent back an empty envelope to make it look like he had sent me back item. Eventually eBay sided with me. Go to the post office and ran an official trace. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

So, not only did he send CASH, but is incompetent. I always go over the address when sending a M/O, cause I don't want to have to deal with getting the M/O back by return mail or try to recoup the money due to a lost/misplaced M/O. WHY didn't he make sure the address was correct when sending CASH? His second mistake. Hopefully the envelope ends up back at his place with the cash still intact. Maybe then he'll understand his mistakes and change his attitude.

With this update taken at face value there is every reasonable degree of evidence that this goes well beyond incompetence to intent to defraud. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. I need to get to 10,000 posts before my next anniversary. You prefer butter or plain? ![]() I did learn that the post office can do a trace. That's interesting info. So there is a new issue with this situation. Why did USPS claim initially it was delivered, only to have notes somewhere else in the USPS system which seems to indicate it wasn't? Seems like someone at USPS is at fault for the initial bad or incomplete tracking info. So much for an earlier post prepared to blame the minimum wage workers at the UPS store rather than the professionals in the USPS. There is plenty of evidence to prove people can be incompetent regardless of how much they make.
