Watching a bit of the hearing on C-SPAN and I'm just getting angry over the approach and demeanor from the democrats on the committee. It's astonishing that they are continuing to push this hoax, when the whole thing is predicated on a lie and came from hillary herself. I have lost a considerable bit of faith in the ability of our government to function within the boundaries of law and order.

Yes he is. His demeanor is one of a man who has been around the block once or twice and frankly doesn't give s shit. I'm just waiting for Barr to light up a smoke and lean back in his chair as the next dem starts asking his questions.

I love the way Barr just handled that dick Blumenthal.

Speaking to cases that the justice department has open currently and whether Barr may have mentioned anything at all about them to Trump, Barr essentially said that he doesn't recall doing so.

Dick: "Will you recuse yourself from those cases?"

Barr: (with an incredulous expression that anyone would ask such a stupid question): No.

If she'd had her salad comb with her and some underling to abuse, she would have done much better.

Hirono was so awful that Lyndsey Graham actually had to step in and shut her up and end her "questioning." Despicable woman.

From Jeff Carlson:

Barr: When did he offer a pardon to someone?

Hirono: I think you know what I'm talking about. Give us some credit for knowing what the hell is going on around here.

Graham: Not Really...You've slandered this man. If you want more of this you're not gonna get it.

The DEMs have a coordinated effort to force AG Barr to reclusion.

Schiff: "he should step down"

Senators Hirono, Harris, Coons, Blumenthal, Booker, etc all attacked Barr as being biased and trying to protect President Trump from Mueller's charges.

Why ?

They fear AG Barr. He is their worst nightmare.

Barr: If the president thought a process was groundless and based on false information, he had the authority to end it.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

AG Barr asked Mueller to review the first memo that he put out. And Mueller declined

Yesterday when the Wash Post published Mueller's ltr to Barr, the author of that story was Devlin Barrett. Barrett is the FBI's favorite leak machine.

It is all a thin smokescreen though. It doesn't matter what Barr says about the report, it has been released so everyone can draw their own conclusions.

Re: obstruction, they can impeach if they want (and lose spectacularly), but that won't change the fact there isn't a legal case to be made.

They are providing great talking points to throw back in their faces if obstruction charges are ever brought against Clinton and her cronies!

I love how Barr made Kamala Harris look like a complete FOOL at the end of their exchange. She committed a cardinal sin by asking a gotcha question that she apparently didn’t know the answer to. She sat there looking like a stunned FOOL when she didn’t get the answer she was expecting.

She’s a candidate for President and she walked right into that woefully unprepared and misinformed. Typical lazy liberal and a FOOL.

Have watched several of these hearings over the years - and I honestly can't remember any other time when the person being questioned winds up questioning the people on the investigating committee. I think this says much about Mr. Barr.

BREAKING: Rep. Meadows Files Criminal Referral Against Nellie Ohr After New Emails to DOJ About Russian Collusion Surface

Nellie Ohr, wife of twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr was criminally referred to the Justice Department Wednesday by House Republicans after hundreds of new emails surfaced, contradicting her previous statements to Congress.

A series of “Hi Honey” emails from Nellie Ohr to her top DOJ husband Bruce Ohr surfaced and suggested Hillary-funded oppo research was being funneled into the DOJ during the 2016 election through a backchannel between the happily married Ohr couple.

Nellie Ohr previously told Congress that during the 2016 election, she worked for Fusion GPS to help them connect Trump and Manafort to Russian organized crime.

New Nellie Ohr emails discovered through a FOIA lawsuit show evidence to the contrary.

Via John Solomon of The Hill:

Now, 339 pages of emails from her private account to Department of Justice (DOJ) email accounts, have been released under a Freedom of Information Act request by the conservative legal group Judicial Watch. And they are raising concerns among Republicans in Congress, who filed a criminal referral with the Justice Department on Wednesday night.

They clearly show that Ohr sent reams of open-source intelligence to her husband, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, and on some occasions to at least three DOJ prosecutors: Lisa Holtyn, Ivana Nizich and Joseph Wheatley.

The contents tracked corruption developments in Russia and Ukraine, including intelligence affecting Russian figures she told Congress she had tried to connect to Trump or Manafort.

“Hi Honey, if you ever get a moment you might find the penultimate article interesting — especially the summary in the final paragraph,” Nellie Ohr emailed her husband on July 6, 2016, in one typical communication. The article and paragraph she flagged suggested that Trump was a Putin stooge: “If Putin wanted to concoct the ideal candidate to service his purposes, his laboratory creation would look like Donald Trump.” Nellie Ohr bolded that key sentence for apparent emphasis.

Earlier Wednesday, Congressman Jim Jordan told Saagar Enjeti of The Hill that Rep. Mark Meadows was “working to finalize” a criminal referral of Nellie Ohr. “We’ll see if that happens.”

Referrals aren't worth the paper they are written on unless they are followed by indictments. Look how many referrals have been sent to the DOJ to include all of the ones from the Kavaneaugh hearing. Hell McCabe is STILL hawking fantasy books and he was referred over a year ago.

We will now find out if Barr has the intestinal fortitude to start to loosen the plug on the drain for the swamp. Nellie would be a good first domino to fall. She knows a lot as she was at the ground floor of this Russia hoax and probably never in her wildest dreams thought it could ever come to this. My guess she is scared shitless and could be easily squeezed.

Again Judicial Watch did all the heavy lifting here getting those emails through a FOIA. I don't understand why the Republicans can't seem to get a hold of these emails.

Some comments about the DEM senators phony side show yesterday in attacking AG Barr.

Barr asked Mueller to review his 24 Mar 2019 memo that gave the bottom line conclusions of the Mueller report. Mueller declined to do so.

A story in the NYT from 3 April 2019 said some of Mueller’s “investigators have told associates that Attorney General William P. Barr failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry”.

Barr was asked about that in an earlier congressional hearing and he said he didn’t know who those team members were or what their issues were.

The evening before Barr testified to the senate, the Washington Post put out a story that Mueller had sent a letter complaining about Barr’s “bottom line” memo. The Post story said the Barr memo “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of Mueller’s work.

The Post story came out at 8:21 pm on 30 April 2019. AG Barr testified the next day (1 May 2019)

Someone leaked the letter to the Wash Post.

The DEMs were all over the Mueller letter.
Multiple DEM senators called Barr a liar. That he had lied to congress when he earlier said he didn’t know what the issues were.

Barr explained that he had called Mueller about Mueller’s letter. Mueller told him he did not disagree with the 24 Mar 2019 Barr memo, but he wanted more information from the report put out immediately. Barr said he would only put out the report in as complete a form as legally possible.

This is just one more “dirty trick” with Mueller’s team leaking to the Wash Post and NYT.

Sen Grassley sums it up...

“The last time he was here, they said, ‘has Bob Mueller expressed any concerns to you’ and he said, ‘no, I don’t know if there are any concerns,’ and he had a letter–he had a phone call,” the reporter said breathlessly. “The letter clearly says their concerns. So–”

Grassley, who seemed bored by the question, said, “They had that conversation and you heard him say–and I have to assume that Mueller said it to him–that he was only concerned about how the media played it.,” he answered. “So I think here’s where we are,” Grassley continued, gathering his thoughts.

“The Democrats and you folks in the media are not concerned about the report. I think you’re concerned about the results weren’t what you expected. And I think you’re finding out that everybody was sold a bunch of snake oil–and now the jig’s up,” he said matter-of-factly.

And at that, Grassley wearily turned around and sauntered off with his aides.

This does not need to be forgotten. Mueller is as dirty as Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Obama, et al, and he needs to go down with them.
