Why Do Liberals Act Like They Hate America?

I do believe that a significant number of grass roots liberals mean well, with what I will call purity of motive while those with political influence are only looking to consolidate power in a communist fashion. As they saying goes if you hate America leave. But they won’t because they realize ( but will never admit) the bastions of leftist utopia in the world that exist would eat them alive

I almost never try to get into the other side's head or ascribe ill motives to those on the left. They are, I've always believed, misguided, not malign.

Not all liberals are the same. Broadly I put them into 3 groups.

The first group is a growing minority, who are true believers in some version of Marxism. They believe a pleasant Utopia can be created if collectivism is imposed. These are the Useful Idiots who will engage in activism of some form to promote progressive liberalism. This group can be violent but believe it is justified. Some may be powerful individuals.

The second group are the larger majority of liberals. They self-identify as "Liberal" without really thinking much about it or even being informed about it. Their families have always been JFK Democrats, or they are in a demographic that historically has been predominately D, so they assume that supporting modern liberalism is the moral thing to do. These people have good intentions but are misguided and ignorant.

The most dangerous group, though, are those who probably have no true ideological beliefs but use the mantle of liberalism to attain personal power and wealth. (Truthfully, the RINOs in Congress are the mirror image, who use the mantle of conservatism to gain personal power and wealth). These are the powerful elite. They instigate and fund the Useful Idiots. They use their power for personal gain without any regard for suffering they cause. Schiff, Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, Gates, etc. I think we may erroneously ascribe true believer status to them because they strongly push the progressive agenda, but their motives are purely selfish.

So you mean:

1. Commies
2. Pinko Commies
3. Oligarchs

It seems like lots of the current crop of crazies wouldn't bat an eye if one of them murdered you where you stood just out of principle. It's happening all over the country, and half or more of the Democratic Congress supports it.

You made me lol! But more seriously, I see the groups as:

1) Increasingly dangerous Commie thugs
2) Ignorant bleeding hearts
3) Ruthless Oligarchs

My experience is that I interact with many in group 2. Friends, neighbors, and family. They want safe neighborhoods, good schools, economic stability, etc. But they've been propagandized so as not to recognize that the left is working against their desires.

We can slowly convert some of these people, but only with calm patience, not with vitriol.

Groups 1 and 3 may yet force us into serious violent confrontation.

The true believers are much greater than you think. Go to a university homecoming and hang out with the students and you will hear lots of support for marxist ideas. They are all being brainwashed by the commie professors.

"Progressives" want the college educated managerial class to control everything to their benefit. The real issue is the feminization of the culture. Most of the creeping marxism is implemented as payments and subsidies to women so they can afford to have children without a husband. Men pay most of the net taxes, while women are at a net deficit. And when your platform is "give women more money" you get a lot of votes from women.

The only country that has had any "success" with marxism and totalitarianism is China. Most of their success has been since they embraced capitalism and foreign investment for a large percent of their economy. But China is a very conservative country in every other respect - the government pushes marriage and family and having children, there is no AFDC, having children outside of marriage is illegal and subject to fines and other punishment, there are no LGBTXYZ rights, crime is punished swiftly and harshly, porn and other adult entertainment is illegal. Of course, everything is dependent on how well the Chinese government makes decisions, and they have made some real blunders in the past decade or two.
