Had to think about this for a while, but I found some pointless crap I do. I wouldn’t say I am adamant about doing any of these things, but I will go to extra lengths or spend some amount of extra money to accommodate them:

- if I am buying soda to take home and keep in the fridge, I always buy cans. If I am buying a soda to drink in my car, I always buy a bottle. Doesn’t matter which is more expensive, that’s just how I always do it, even when the drink inside is the exact same. Couldn’t tell ya why though.

- when I buy new socks, one of my main criteria is that they look different than my current socks, so I don’t get them mixed up when sorting laundry.

- I am generally brand agnostic, but I am almost compulsive about buying Jif peanut butter. Among the reasons why, none of which are very reasonable, is that it validates in my mind that ‘.gif’ should be pronounced with a hard G sound.

- Also, I love Smuckers grape jelly, and I like pb&j sandwiches. However, I generally refuse to buy or eat their product with the peanut butter and jelly swirled together in the same jar. It tastes fine, it just annoys me.

Commercials are meant to convince you to buy a product. If a commercial annoys the hell out of me, on the other hand, I conclude they don't want me to buy their product. My favorite and long standing example of this is KFC. Back in the mid or late 90s KFC had a series of commercials where they used a cartoon animated dancing Colonel Sanders, voiced by Randy Quaid. Grated on my nerves like nails on chalkboard.

Not that I ate there frequently before, but I haven't had KFC since.

I hate offended people. They come in two flavours - huffy and whiny - and it's hard to know which is worst. The huffy ones are self-important, narcissistic authoritarians in love with the sound of their own booming disapproval, while the whiny, sparrowlike ones are so annoying and sickly and ill-equipped for life on Earth you just want to smack them round the head until they stop crying and grow up.

Just as an FYI, the VP9 has paddles. The VP9-B does not.

I hate both of those commercials/products. The channel gets changed or muted as soon as I see it.

I use my bluetooth buds 95% of the time.

Still, a headphone jack is one of those things I just gotta have. Hey, the OP asked, didn't he?

Probably 25 years ago, my wife and I walked into a Wendy's, it smelled like a sewer, the girl behind the counter was obviously sick as a dog, and she was wiping her nose with the hands with which she was serving food.

We haven't even considered Wendy's a viable option since then.

I'm disinclined to buy beer at Meijer anymore, because, after checking their web site a month or so back, and finding no mention anywhere about their not accepting bottle returns cuz of the Wu Flu, I hauled 'em all over there only to be told they weren't accepting bottle and can returns. "Then why isn't it on your web site?" "Because some stores are accepting returns and some aren't." Thought to ask him if Meijer's management and IT staff knew it was the year 2020, but figured would result in more wasted time.

I will not buy a haircut that requires an appointment. I understand this could cause a wait on my end. If I don't have the time, I will drop in at another time convenient to me.

In the past setting an appointment at some future date resulted in conflicts or missed appointments. Smile

All the different live "Colonels" they use now are just as bad, as it dilutes the brand image.

Years ago, I went to many nascar races back before everything was aero dependent engineering, politically correct and cookie cutter tracks.

I would refuse to buy any products that sponsored drivers that I did not like.

I will not buy various products because of the marketing. The pound you in the ass with their ads and adverts don’t work on me, it’s actually the reverse. Keep coming at me with ad after ad and said product gets put on my will not purchase list.

I will NEVER do any business with Capitol One Bank. All due to that stupid heavy cardboard insert they put in their mailers to insure they can't be shredded in a home shredder.

Iver Johnson. My first handgun was an IJ Trailsman 66, 8 shot .22 revolver. After about 500 rounds, it stopped indexing correctly. Firing pin would hit one side of the chamber or the other. Two trips back to the factory didn't solve the problem. I understand the current IJ has no connection to the 1960 version, but I would never buy anything with Iver Johnson on it. I suppose 60 years is too long to carry a grudge, but there you are.

There have been rifles with built-in optics before. The original Steyr AUG, FN F2000, and HK G36 are examples of this.

The issue is that you miss out on modularity, and these optics (like most tech) tend to become outdated and can't be as easily upgraded.

Nowadays, all of these rifles have switched to railed tops so you can add your own "dongle" as the situation necessitates. Wink
