I will try to remember the case name and citation and post it.

Well, if that's the case then it needs to go to the Supreme Court.

Jim

Unfortunately I don't believe SCOTUS granted certiorari to that case, the WH would have to appeal the district ruling to the circuit and then seek certiorari to the SCOTUS.

Cancel the press briefing. Ninety percent of the reporters are aligned against the Trump white house. Why give these idiots the attention they are used to?

He doesn't need to be called on to be disruptive, and he can still be disruptive from the back of the room:

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

“This result means that Acosta will have his access to the White House restored for at least a short period of time. The judge said while explaining his decision that he believes that CNN and Acosta are likely to prevail in the case overall.
Kelly made his ruling on the basis of CNN and Acosta's Fifth Amendment claims, saying the White House did not provide Acosta with the due process required to legally revoke his press pass.”

If you watch Mark Dice's videos, you know he often pokes fun at the fact that he has more subscribers than CNN has viewers and he's just "a guy with a laptop at his kitchen table."

How funny would it be if Trump gave CNN's seat at the WH to Mark Dice stating that CNN's viewership is too low to warrant a hard pass. Wink

I think ensigmatic is on to something. Terminate the press conference. Put the blame back on him. The rest of them will eat their own.

I know I am aging myself but I remember when Regan had one of his first press conferences. He TOLD to press how they would act and to respect the process.

Maybe there is a white haired black election official in Florida that could offer a few tips on how to rig a vote to see who could attend a weekly press conference. Roll Eyes

This right here.
Every time Acosta is disruptive, terminate the briefing and walk out. Let the other media folks keep Acosta in line.

The Pres should not call on him, and treat him like the petulant child he is if disruptive. Tell the whole audience he won't proceed until Acosta is quiet and respectful. Should spend the whole briefing not answering a single question if there is disruption.

I think some techniques used by comedians who are heckled are in order. I bet Ron White would have suggestions as to handling Acosta. Trump needs to use a little humor to dismantle the guy.

The result of this is that the White House will now write rules for attending a press briefing. Prior to this, the rules were unspoken, and based on comity. Moving forward, expect there to be written rules, such as:

Don't touch interns
Don't argue with the president
One question only

and other stiff-necked behavior guides that will render these briefings even more nonsensical than they already are.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

31 CFR 409.1 covers Whitehouse press pass issue, and 409.2 lays out the process to deny.

Since they didn't follow their own rules, how was the judge supposed to rule?

I wonder what the penalty is for violating it?

Maybe these two regs should be eliminated the next time two new regs are created.

Wonder why I have utter contempt/disgust for our current court system and its judges? This is just another steaming example why. There is zero justification/basis for the judge to rule the way he did. 'Zero'.

If I were Trump, I'd reinstate this dumbasses press pass and then immediately cancel 'all' press briefings from here on out. I'm sure this same POS judge would probably force the reinstatement of those as well because the constitution means whatever he says it means. Mad

What a steaming pile. Apparently this judge is, shall we say, a bit of a moron.
