I wasn’t able to get my hernia fixed yet and today I guess I over did it. It popped out and you can knock me over with a feather. I can barely stand up for the pain.

Pray for me, friends.

Oh shit, man. I’m so sorry to hear that. I have a real good idea how that feels. You’re in my prayers, Mark.

I've got 3 and only one worries me. Every once in a while it bothers me and, luckily I can push it in and go on with work. Wish you the best of luck!!

They gave me dilaudid (dilaudidn’t work) and the nurse tortured me for about 10 minutes trying to get my guts back in. She couldn’t. Then they called in a surgeon and let me tell you, he just went for it. Man, that hurt like a b-word. I couldn’t take any more and grabbed his hand telling him to stop but he was yelling “it’s in, don’t worry, it’s in”. About 2 minutes later the pain completely went away. I have to wear a truss all the time now.

I’ve got to say I’m disappointed in the pain medicine. But that was the quickest ER visit I’ve ever experienced. Well done to the staff at UPMC Jameson.

Thanks for the prayers.

I was hoping to make it to winter so I’d be off of work for the surgery and recovery but that’s not in the cards. Going to schedule it for ASAP.

That's the right decision. I just finished some surgery that I put off too and I wished I'd gone earlier.

I had a double repair in June, I go back to work tomorrow. There is no convenient time to have this done, just some less inconvenient times if you get to pick the time.

Try to enjoy your enforced relaxation time. Good luck.
