Ohio removed all plate / Olympic weights 20yrs ago.
At least in Ohio the "Rock Piles" are gone for security reasons only.
After the inmates in Lucasville, Ohio used the barbells & weights to break thru concrete walls during the riot there.
Of course they added a weight cage with machine weights and they have a maximum time per week that they can use the equipment per inmate.
Accuracy depends on the staff.

Anything more than ten year sentence puts you on a floating prison ship, remote controlled, sailing through rough seas

My idea would be to use one of those Aleutian islands as a national (only) prison.

Perps get sentenced to some period of time, sent to the island where they raise their own food, provide their own shelter and own "law enforcement. Sentenced to 5 years? Dropped on the island on day 1 of the sentence. Picked up from the island on the last day. No parole, etc.

No guards required. A satellite watch to prevent boats approaching the island.

You don't like our rules of society? Fine, go there and set up your own.

How about bringing back the stocks?

You know, those things which have accommodations for the 2 arms and neck? Set up on the public square. Perps spend 24 hours a day locked up in them for the entire term of said sentence.

So what about the poor bastards that are actually innocent? We know this happens..DNA and all. I’m cutrently reading a book about the Beatrice 6, a group of basically retarded people who one gung-ho cop pinned a murder on. They eventually all got exonerated (well one died beforehand) and won a $28 million dollar judgement that is going to bankrupt the whole county. The cop is still on duty.

You're describing a pillory. The stocks are a fixed device that is clamped over the ankles with the prisoner sitting on the ground.

I am sure there are very few. Society cannot afford to keep housing, feeding, and caring for an increasing population of losers.

So you’re saying fuck them...too bad they were born unlucky? Of the 350+ people who were exonerated via DNA a good number of them were on death row. That alone should give you pause. How many others are still in prison in a position where DNA can’t help? While the statistical percentage isn’t that significant when you take into considering who many people are incarcerated, try telling that to the prisoner who’s life has been stolen from them.

That is exactly what I am saying. Life is not fair. Can we at least agree to start on the 90 percent whose guilt and recurrent criminal activities are not in question ? Or are you victimized by a liberal educational system ? That would not be fair either.

Murdering an innocent person is more than unfair. Whether the state does it or some thug on the street.
