My shipping costs would have been nearly $11.00 to ship one $1.99 package of paracord in an envelope to Alabama from Ohio.

I wonder if all of those costs are for the Shipping and Handling or just the Shipping? I don’t want to pay anyone to handle the product, just ship it.

Had to pass but thanks for the heads up on a quality product.

Vendor will ship 500' paracord for the same amount as 100'.
Pay about $ 013/foot for 100' delivered or pay about $ 0.04/ft. delivered for 500 ft.

Don't want/need 500 ft.?

Then "man up' and pay minimum shipping/handling. No need to speculate
about how much the vendor charges for "handling'.

It's a simple choice

It was a simple choice. I manned up and decided that it wasn’t a good value for me to purchase 100’ feet of quality paracord for the price of shipping it.

(…And my comment about Shipping and Handling is an old comedy routine. It was a light hearted joke, maybe a little obscure perhaps but not speculation.)

Apologies if I offended anyone.

I used to think the same way. Then, I went into business for myself, at which point I realized that if a customer wanted to order something for me, I had to pay for
  • packaging materials

  • The guy who works for me, who needs to be paid for his time, packing the stuff up

  • Everything that I sell costs part of the rent that I pay, utilities, business license, insurance, etc.
Maybe "handling" is not the best term, but it's all part of the overhead.

Gene,

Thanks friend.

If you’ll put your offer out there as a general karma for the whole community then I’ll put my hat in the ring for an equal chance.

I agree. You’re a good egg.

Bumping this for a nifty new Atwood product. I do use their Micro Cord and it is a quality product. Here's their new dispenser for this cord and it has a compartment to store a Mini BIC lighter or other items like a ferro rod. Great idea for a compact survival kit. Built-in line cutter. Holds 125 feet of cord.

Ready Rope Micro

You can find the fullsize version of this product here.

Through Monday, Midnight PST, use promo code MEMORIAL20 for 20% off.

FYI, SIGforum is not affiliated with Atwood Rope Mfg. I just happen to use and believe in their products. Made in the USA

I was wondering how this thread got bumped. I got the same email today. Fortunately I am fully stocked on 3 different sizes in various colors.

I was wondering once why they carried the very brightly colored paracord…then I remembered tripping over the tie downs for the pop up shade. Neon green for that!
