My shipping costs would have been nearly $11.00 to ship one $1.99 package of paracord in an envelope to Alabama from Ohio.

I wonder if all of those costs are for the Shipping and Handling or just the Shipping? I don’t want to pay anyone to handle the product, just ship it.

Had to pass but thanks for the heads up on a quality product.

Vendor will ship 500' paracord for the same amount as 100'.
Pay about $ 013/foot for 100' delivered or pay about $ 0.04/ft. delivered for 500 ft.

Don't want/need 500 ft.?

Then "man up' and pay minimum shipping/handling. No need to speculate
about how much the vendor charges for "handling'.

It's a simple choice

It was a simple choice. I manned up and decided that it wasn’t a good value for me to purchase 100’ feet of quality paracord for the price of shipping it.

I used to think the same way. Then, I went into business for myself, at which point I realized that if a customer wanted to order something for me, I had to pay for

• packaging materials
  
  
• The guy who works for me, who needs to be paid for his time, packing the stuff up
  
  
• Everything that I sell costs part of the rent that I pay, utilities, business license, insurance, etc.

Maybe "handling" is not the best term, but it's all part of the overhead.

On the major highways here in UK it's hitting $13 a gallon.
