I don't much about this stuff, but am learning because I started camping last year, purchased some crappy ropes to get going.

Would anyone know if this a good product for running shelter and tarp lines? I had one occasion where I had some rough weather to contend with and had some near disasters.

One of the reasons I bought this paracord. It would work very well ... especially the neon colors since you will be able to see the cord and not trip over it.

I use paracord for boot laces, just have to learn to tie a different bow to keep the knot tight. Also use it to wrapped the handle of a couple Louisville slugger bats ... just in case.

Yep, paracord works great for shelter/tarp lines.

Just invest in some quality aluminum stakes, like MSR Groundhogs.

They're a little pricier than normal stakes, but are lighter and work much better. (Plus, you just saved all that money going with the clearance stained paracord anyway... Wink )

I ordered 2 100 foot bundles, random color. It came the other day, one red, one yellow. It may be stained, but I cannot see the staining if it is. Cord looks fine to me, and is very good quality. I think I'll order some more.

If you're wanting inexpensive paracord, don't care about the color, and don't need the paracord to be in exactly 100 foot lengths, check out Atwoods' "Mystery Box":

https://atwoodrope.com/product...paracord-mystery-box

Plus you can use coupon code BOX20 for an additional 20% off a mystery box.

That's $11.99 (after discount) for 1000 feet of paracord. Compared to $19.90 for 1000 feet of the stained paracord.

Just bought 1,000'. Will always find a use for it. I once bought, through a marine wholesale supplier, 17,000 feet of line. About half was 1/2", the rest smaller. Between my friends and myself, it was all used up over a period of time.

This cost me an extra $65 as I bought one of the 20lbs mystery boxes they are running right now. Probably have more rope and cordage than I will use in my lifetime.

Got my 500 feet of random today.

Neon Green, Burnt Orange (non-neon/blaze), Canary Yellow (non-neon), and two packs of Tan.

I guess they're all out of Hot Pink, and starting to run out of the various Neon shades too. Big Grin
