An added bonus...

She is an NRA member, concealed carry permit holder and soon to be a VCDL member. A great lady and a great American...Her daughter is very talented and beautiful as well Smile

She has had a few left over quilts that my wife (coffeeaddict) has sold at her consignment antique/craft booth. They sold like the same day she put them out there to sell. They are labor intensive and while she could definitely sell them, it would never be profitable or a way to provide any kind of income. She loves making them for family and friends, though.

That is truly spectacular! Obviously your MIL respects and loves you as a son, not just as a SIL. Cherish the quilt, yes, but cherish the relationship more.

I read the title and thought, “blah, blah... look what a relative made on the order of a crayon drawing made by a kid to be posted on a refrigerator door.”

I opened the thread and, “WOW!”

Very vivid colors and outstanding composition.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Quilts are such labor of love, you must have done something right!
Very nice way she signed it, too. Beautiful quilt!

That quilt says something very special about both the person who made it and the person who received it. Simply magnificent! It would be fitting as a piece of art in a history museum...but no, it was made with love and affection and should be used to comfort someone sitting by a fire on a dark cold night.

I can't stop admiring, or marvelling, at this beautiful labor or love.

Any idea how long it took her to make it?

A great deal of time, effort and love went into making that beautiful quilt.
