I think the Victor looks like a spaceship in the pic, not a plane! Kind of retro cool.

Aeronautics confers beauty and grandeur, combining art and science for those who devote themselves to it. . . . The aeronaut, free in space, sailing in the infinite, loses himself in the immense undulations of nature. He climbs, he rises, he soars, he reigns, he hurtles the proud vault of the azure sky. — Georges Besançon

Most anything by the Brits in WWII, with the exception of the Spitfire, Hurricane, or Lancaster. It's amazing that the same country that birthed the Spitfire and Mosquito (some of the most astoundingly beautiful aircraft of all time) created monstrosities such as:

Blackburn Roc

Fairey Barracuda

Fleet Shadower

Fear God and Dread Nought
Admiral of the Fleet Sir Jacky Fisher

I love it. It looks like it was designed by Hermes, to carry loads of famous stylish typewriters, or some such.

Yeah, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I LOVE the Victor. It's such a classic design (one of the 3 V-Bombers; the last great bombers from the Brits - Vulcan, Victor, and Valiant).

No doubt from a brief window in history between radio shows and the dawn of cable and the internet, back before we were all-but-certain aliens haven't visited us in actual flying saucers, back when UFOs were more plausible, a group of folks in our own government and military decided we needed to check out the idea for ourselves, because, you know, maybe it was that saucer shape that lets them fly across the universe, and thus...

the Avrocar... Smile

We had quite an audience out there to watch them relaunch that thing from Jabara Airport. Presume the drivers are now baggage handlers.

Nope. And that's I'll gonna' say. Wink (Wasn't me)

Ain't nothing ugly at all about this thing and it's 3 spinster sisters. But I am a little biased...

I saw that thing in the Air Force Museum last month, and calling it’s construction sketchy looking is being generous. Seems they couldn’t get it more than a few feet above the ground, as it would start wobbling like a plate.
