I feel good now that this election is behind us. I'm sure last nights incident cost Gianforte votes but the he still posted a substantial margin - probably due to early voting.

I nearly wore out my mute button killing those annoying political commercials.

I'm pretty certain that some election day voters thought, "[I]f he body-slams a 'journalist', he's my kind of guy".

It should be a law. Extra points awarded for a candidate doing that.

A way of bringing some sanity to the equation.

Happy to wake up today to the good news.

Now he needs to eat some humble pie, apologize and we move on. End of story.

He will make a hell of a better representative for us, than the musician.

I stayed up late and watched his speech. Quite a lot of humility there. I'm more than satisfied.

He's going to do just fine.

Predictably, Quist won the liberal counties and reservations. Roll Eyes

They are so damn hypocritical.
I've long been opposed to early voting for two reasons:
1. Additional opportunities for fraud.
2. We have an election DAY for a reason. You should have all available information when you vote. If you vote early, you simply don't. It's not likely to change your mind, but you should have all the information at the time of the election.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I read yesterday that Gianforte's campaign claimed that they had about $100,000 in donations come in right after the alleged incident...just shows you that people absolutely loath the media Big Grin

For anyone who happens to know, is Missoula really all that much of a hippie town?

Really? I was thinking he should hold press conferences inside a cage. Let's see how many CNN reporters want to climb inside and poke the bear.

I wouldn't want to see any honest, objective, ethical reporter assaulted.

However, since no such thing exists any longer...

After yesterday's altercation I don't see how anybody could vote for Gianforte.

I did. Just this afternoon.

Not a chance in hell that I'd vote for the dope smoking hippy and a third party vote is a vote for the democrats. Easy choice here.

You brute. Big Grin

Yeah, good God, why would we want an actual fighter to represent us. We've had such great results from non-fighters like John McCain and his girlfriend Lyndsey. It's a good thing people won't vote for a fighter. The getting along route has worked out so well for us in the last eight years.

As to the reporter? Does anyone really care? I'm so tired of all of the fake/ behavior of the online/FB crowd over stuff like this. There was a day and time when we handled stuff like this in this fashion. We didn't call the cops. We didn't whine about being assaulted. We didn't turn to the legions on FB to be consoled because we got our asses whipped. We moved on. Quite frankly, if I were the officer working that, I would have done a report for harassment with physical contact, and referred the victim to the prosecutors office in five business days to seek potential charges. What I saw was not even assault by statue here.

After pulling in 51% of the vote and trouncing the Dem in the race, Mr. Gianforte needs to call Paul Ryan and tell him to shove him damn opinion and recommendations.

Laughing! This ^^^^ ! I'd love to see body-slamming reporters as a regular Pay-per-View event and if I were a betting man I'd wager it'd be a huge success.
