Perdue is selling cornish cross chickens and humanely killing them at 6 to 8 weeks old. Cornish cross are hybrid chickens whose parent stock was rigidly selected over the course of years to produce fast growing and large breasted offspring. As a result they grow extremely fast, and inhumane things happen to cornish cross chickens if you don't kill them by week 9 or so (e.g. break legs, heart attack, etc). These aren't backyard egg laying chickens that live years.

What would be fun would be to enter the store eating a piece of chic-fa-la, walk to the chicken dept and reach under the towels they hung to grab a chicken, and laugh as you walked to the check out.

Were they impeding customers trying to shop in the store? Have the police cite them all for trespassing and haul their asses to jail if they don't leave.

I haven't stepped foot into a Trader Joes in maybe 10 years or more, but it doesn't surprise me that the idiots were allowed to be idiots onsite.
