Here we see that movie theatre activities can lead to legal concerns.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

If you're that desperate then movie theaters shouldn't faze you one bit!

Haven't been to one in eons. And what with cellphones, rude people, unruly minors, dirty sticky walkways and seats... HUGE PASS!

That said we have a vintage old 1920's Elks Theater in town https://www.elkstheatre.com/
that is well groomed, beautifully done inside, state-of-the-art sound, respectful locals, etc. that would be a decent choice were I to really feel the need.

I did see Maverick in the Theater and the Batman this summer.

Mostly I just wait to purchase it on 4k and more recently just skipping altogether. I watch online with Netflix, Amazon apple etc. Oh yeah, Disney/hulu/espn.

So we just stay in, snuggle and make popcorn ourselves and I have found I do not really miss it.

Now I do love live theater, We are seeing the musical Emma this weekend. Smile

I probably paid for the nice big 4k tv I bought just in theater savings alone.

I don’t go anymore generally, however I did go see TG:Maverick at an IMAX with good sound and stadium seating. You could pick your seats so we got perfection. There were a few other couples in the joint.

Best part was taking a 84-year-old grandma to the movies… To see Tom Cruise. Put a smile on her face for four hours.

all those yet still a few others I won't even mention....

my last in-person theater experience was the 1st Avatar around 2010. Disappointed on many levels, must have been promoted into full blooded Journeyman Curmudgeon by then/or because of that evening.

I relived my first 3D experience some 55ish years prior with some mindless sci-fi thriller film. Even the goggles were much the same.

In any case, I've moved on in my entertainment choices.

Saw Maverick in IMAX, crowd was good, nobody was rude or talking, clean with good seating, you get to reserve your seat too online.

First time in years we have been to a theater...

I can see getting the clap on a tractor seat. The vibrations and all-kinda like a washing machine. Hmm. But I digress...

Y'all germaphobes worried about theaters kill me. Apparently you have little idea the bugs you're exposed to daily.

You can run but you can't hide!

If Tom Cruise put a smile on your face lasting more than four hours, call your doctor.

I don't go to movie theaters simply because there are no films I am interested in seeing, except for Maverick, which was OK. Prior, I went to see a simply awful Batman movie because my son begged me to go, to kind of revisit old times, and it was a terrible experience because it was a terrible film. Years before that, I saw Dunkirk in IMAX. That's it for the last 5 years or so.

Hollywood, start making good films again, and I will go to a theater to watch.

I only go to a theater when there is a movie I rate worthy of the effort. I don't go often. FWIW, I don't watch movies much on TV, either -- I don't subscribe to any streaming services.

If some sumbitch wants to shoot at me in a movie theater, they had better be prepared to receive return fire.

My problem is the volume of the sound. Last couple of times I went to to a movie, it rattled my teeth.

I haven’t been to a movie theater since one of the Harry Potter movies. Nowadays I haven’t even rented a DVD from Redbox. I stream everything online and at home. I have a large super high quality tv with a great sound system so I have no reason to leave my home to watch what I want. I am also a VERY patient person and if it takes a year or two for me to see what I want, I will wait.

Exactly why the wife and I sit in the back row! Our local theaters are gun free zones. Not so much if we are there!
