Sending good thoughts and prayers for you V-Tail.
Sedatives have the same effect on me, so I know just what you're saying.
Last time I was knocked out was for hand surgery, I was sick for the better part of two days.

Well...good luck.

They know that Green Tea is a good prevention for prostate cancer. I drink tea year round averaging about a quart a day.

Yeah, that's typical for me. So much so, that this past October I declined the Valium for cataract surgery. Ten minutes of being really uncomfortable -- no pain, but very uncomfortable pushing, poking, and prodding at my eyeball. Ten minutes of discomfort beats the heck out of a day or two of vertigo, disorientation, nausea, continuous puking, etc.

Now the hard part: waiting a week and a half for the verdict.

If it won't matter in 5 years don't give it more than 5 minutes.

Best wishes for a good outcome for you V-Tail.

Some studies indicate that lycopene, the stuff that gives tomatoes their red color, reduces the risk of several cancers, notably prostate cancer. Raw tomatoes aren't a good source of lycopene though – it's bound so tightly in the cell that the human digestive system can't efficiently extract it. For efficient extraction the tomatoes need to be cooked. Better yet, cooked and puréed. Tomato soup! For that reason, I have a bowl of tomato soup every day. Furthermore, lipids are necessary to efficiently metabolize lycopene, so I stir in some EVOO – tastes good too.

I'm not touting tomato soup as a cure for prostate cancer – it's more a preventive, if anything – but it can't hurt, might help. I love the stuff in any case.

Sounds like I need to eat more Italian food, with tomato sauce and olive oil. For once, the medicine might taste good! Is it OK to add some garlic, anchovies, and maybe a glass of Chianti to the prescription?

Indeed. It was the lower incidence of prostate cancer in Mediterranean region that that prompted the interest of researchers in the health benefits of tomatoes, olive oil, and certain other foods popular in that region. And yeah, they taste good too!

After they took out mine last December the doc said they found micro invasion of the bladder, so I'm thinking I made a good decision to go with surgery.
PSA is now 0.01 and I get checked every three months.
The whole deal sucks canal water, but I was back on the job in January and now no more biopsies or finger waves.
Best wishes and prayers outbound.
