Ouch! Poor guy, I hope he heals quickly. As for the perpetrator, maybe a spring-powered low power BB gun could be the way to deter future attacks.

Nay, I shall chastise him vigorously, question his parentage and insult his fur.

Also, I've put the word out in the neighborhood that he's a snitch.

I mean, it worked in that episode of Starsky & Hutch.

wow pretty nasty wound, nice of you to take care of it, not sure how well it would have recovered on it's own.

Hopefully someone can capture the other cat and have it fixed

He's fine. I'm crushing up his antibiotics and putting them in his food and he's nearing completion of the course of treatment. I refrained from giving him the NSAID because there was no apparent inflammation.

The wounds are scabbed-up, shrinking and healing nicely. He's running, playing, talking up a storm, enjoying our brief warm spell. He just finished up about an hour and a half in the house, staying with me in the kitchen and living room. He likes to watch TV.

I was concerned that two (well, four, actually) car rides and two visits to the vet in 18 hours, after having never been anywhere outside of our yard and woods, might cause him to be wary of us, but it seems that it's actually made him more trusting of us. Though he cannot understand why we brought him to strange places with strange people, he seems to sense the care in all of it.

I’m glad Feeny is doing better. Hopefully being labeled a snitch causes the villain to mend his ways.

I believe this. I think animals are far more intuitive than we know.

Glad to hear Feeny's recovered from that encounter, thank goodness for antibiotics!

Glad it turned out well. The older I get, the more I understand the value of pets. We need them as much as they need us I think.
