I am thinking about the decision restricting nationwide injunctions.

Can a Federal district judge still grant an injunction on his or her specific district? Certainly they can grant an injunction for the plaintiffs, and with a class action that could cover a lot of people.

The test is usually "irreparable damage" during the time it takes for the case to make it's way through the system, and likelihood of the plaintiffs prevailing on the merits of the case.

Lets take the pistol brace rule. Second Amendment Foundation sued and got an injunction for its members. I joined the SAF for 5 years and paid dues to be included. Then a nationwide injunction was granted. I am generally OK with only the plaintiffs getting temporary relief. And in the pistol brace case, I would think a class action for "all persons who purchased a pistol brace" could be created, and added to the case as plaintiffs. Would be a little more complicated for the plaintiff's lawyers but not that huge a deal considering the number of class action notices I get for lots of different things.

On the other hand - FRT triggers were deemed to be "machine guns" by at least some people in the ATF and I believe some were confiscated and people were potentially at legal risk to be charged with an NFA violation.

What would happen here? Yes anyone charged could contest the legality of the ATF decision, as can the manufacturers whose property was confiscated. I'd really rather no one get charged, because a single federal felony charge is going to bankrupt the average person with legal bills, and probably get them fired from any job they have. I suppose the district where the manufacturer is located could grant an injunction in that district. An individual having to give up an FRT could be compensated later for the cost so that's not "irreparable".

Go Home, Mr. Vice President: Senate Clears Key Procedural Vote on Trump Reconciliation Bill Outright

The reconciliation package—aka the ‘big, beautiful bill’–was dragged over the finish line in a crucial procedural vote. Vice President JD Vance arrived on the Hill to cast the tiebreaking vote if necessary. It was not needed.

The motion passed 51-49. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Rand Paul (R-KY) voted against advancing what will be Trump's signature domestic legislation. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) did vote against the motion, but later changed his vote. Republicans came too close to making perfect the enemy of the good, the headline for this weekend.

Copper Jacket TV had a video drop last night about 10:00 yhat I watched. Said Crenshaw was bragging about defiantly adding back something trans-related the Parliamentarian stripped out, but curiously they didn't for HPA and SHORT.

This whole "perfect is the enemy of good" argument is cancer. I'd like to think the House would reject the dog's dinner the Senate prepared, but they didn't include SHORT in their version.

Your link seems to only be excerpts and doesn't disagree with what I posted. My source was Wikipedia.

Here's the relevant passage from the majority opinion from my link, which specifically excludes illegal aliens. Seems maybe wikipedia isn't fully presenting the decision?

"
Chinese persons, born out of the United States, remaining subjects of the Emperor of China, and not having become citizens of the United States, are entitled to the protection of, and owe allegiance to, the United States so long as they are permitted by the United States to reside here, and are “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” in the same sense as all other aliens residing in the United States. . . ."

I think all of that is a bit too in the weeds perhaps, at least for me. The important result is that the Supremes have stated clearly that the lower courts were acting unConstitutionally to block Presidential authority, not to seek justice. Lefty news twisted it to the Supremes gave POTUS new expanded powers, but that is a lie.

Whatever form any new court challenges take, it greatly diminishes the potential abuses, and thus will deter, though not fully stop, such cases being brought.

EXACTLY!

The G-D Commie presstitutes just cannot restrain them from spewing and spinning deceit and lies.

Here is the obedient anti-American shit-stain phuk chuck todd delivering a seemingly positive ‘opinion’ piece about PDJT’s administration, but then towards the end he slips this in about SCOTUS’ recent ruling. . .

“Redefined the boundaries of the Presidency.”

. . .which is horseshit, as the court merely affirmed what the Constitutionally defined boundaries are of the President and the Executive Branch, which PDJT is rightfully reclaiming from the swamp blob.

The sheeple of course, can now go out on their “No Kings Marches II” based on steaming pile of BS they are fed dailey.

Trump: We Have a Buyer for TikTok

President Donald Trump said in an interview broadcast on Sunday that he had found a buyer for TikTok, a group of "very wealthy people" who he will reveal in about two weeks.

Trump made the remarks in an interview on Fox News Channel's "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo."

Trump said earlier this month that he had signed an executive order extending the June 19 deadline for China-based ByteDance to divest the U.S. assets of short-video app TikTok for 90 days.

"I've just signed the Executive Order extending the Deadline for the TikTok closing for 90 days (September 17, 2025)," he said in a Truth Social post.

Trump had already twice granted a reprieve from enforcement of a congressionally mandated ban on TikTok that was supposed to take effect in January.

The first one was through an executive order on Jan. 20, his first day in office, after the platform went dark briefly when the ban approved by Congress — and upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court — took effect.

The second was in April, when White House officials believed they were nearing a deal to spin off TikTok into a new company with U.S. ownership that fell apart after China backed out following Trump’s tariff announcement.

It is not clear how many times Trump can — or will — keep extending the ban as the government continues to try to negotiate a deal for TikTok, which is owned by China’s ByteDance.

Trump has amassed more than 15 million followers on TikTok since he joined last year, and he has credited the trendsetting platform with helping him gain traction among young voters. He said in January that he has a “warm spot for TikTok.”

That's true not only of Paul but other RINOs as well, like Romney, who were extremely jealous of what Trump was able to do, and they were not.

Yeah, I agree. It's ridiculous to compare him to "other RINOs as well, like Romney".
Rand Paul has been consistently voting against budget busting bills that raise the deficit and debt, unlike Thom Tillis.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

“Canada caved to President Donald Trump and scrapped its digital services tax targeting U.S. technology firms just hours before it was due to take effect on Monday, paving the way for the resumption of tariff talks.

Trump, in a shock announcement on Friday, announced he was suspending trade talks with America's neighbor to the north over the tax.

The pressure campaign worked, handing the president a trade victory.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Trump spoke on Sunday and agreed to  resume trade negotiations. Their goal is to have a deal by July 21, Canada's finance ministry said in a statement.

In the meantime, Ottawa said it would pause collections on the 3% tax that would hit major American companies like Amazon, Google and Facebook. …”

WTOP.com: Trump administration finds Harvard failed to protect Jewish students, threatens to cut all funding

ASHINGTON (AP) — Harvard University failed to protect Jewish students from harassment, the Trump administration concluded after an investigation, threatening to cut all federal funding from the Ivy League school if it fails to take action.

A federal task force sent a letter to Harvard on Monday finding the university violated civil rights laws requiring colleges to protect students from discrimination based on race or national origin. It says investigators found Harvard was at times a “willful participant in anti-Semitic harassment of Jewish students, faculty, and staff” and that campus leaders allowed antisemitism to fester on the campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

“Failure to institute adequate changes immediately will result in the loss of all federal financial resources and continue to affect Harvard’s relationship with the federal government,” officials said in the letter, which was obtained by The Associated Press and first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Harvard did not immediately comment.

It’s the latest intensification in the White House’s battle with Harvard, which lost more than $2.6 billion in federal research grants after rejecting a list of federal demands calling for sweeping changes to campus governance, hiring and admissions.

The Trump administration for months has accused Harvard of tolerating antisemitism on its campus, but a formal finding paves the way for a negotiated agreement or — if one isn’t reached — an attempt to cut the school off from federal dollars.

Much of the investigation’s evidence focuses on campus protests over the Israel-Hamas war. It says the campus was “overrun by an impermissible, multiweek encampment” that left Jewish and Israeli students fearful and disrupted their studies.

It accuses Harvard of imposing lax and inconsistent discipline against students who participated in the encampment, noting that none was suspended.

Harvard President Alan Garber has acknowledged problems with antisemitism and anti-Muslim bias on campus, but he says Harvard has made strides to fight prejudice. He announced new initiatives in April after Harvard released internal reports finding evidence of antisemitism and Islamophobia on campus.

“Harvard cannot — and will not — abide bigotry,” Garber wrote in releasing the reports.

The Monday letter finds that Harvard violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Such findings have almost always been resolved through voluntary resolutions between schools and the federal government. The Trump administration has taken a much sharper edge than its predecessors, however.

It has been decades since an administration even attempted to fully strip a school or college of its federal funding over civil rights violations.

Mr. President, don't stop with Harvard. Go after every school that allowed antisemitism on their campus.

Iran's top Shiite cleric issued a religious decree against President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday, an act some experts called an incitement to terrorism.
