Kaine's Senate proposal stopping DT from any military action in Venezuela without congress approval passed. Not surprised Rand Paul voted for it, but I am surprised Josh Hawley did. Collins and Murkowski were likely a given. Probably won't survive house and assuredly DT veto.

PB... I am looking now, but is this a law they are trying to pass or is there some function of the senate that can tie The Presidents hands on this matter without house approval and him signing it? The "Boz"

DT has said it will be vetoed if it gets to him. Government at its finest. So without a veto override majority, not going anywhere. These ass clowns are being paid for this nonsense.

The kaine war powers resolution vote was a procedural vote so I guess it goes to debate now.

Trump Says US Will Begin Land Strikes on Cartels in Mexico ‘We knocked out ... the drugs coming in by water, and we are going to start now hitting land with regard with the cartels,’ the U.S. president said. President Donald Trump announced in an interview aired Jan. 8 that the United States would begin launching strikes on cartels in Mexico. “We knocked out 97 percent of the drugs coming in by water, and we are going to start now hitting land with regard with the cartels,” Trump told Sean Hannity from Fox News. “The cartels are running Mexico. It’s very sad to watch and see what’s happened to that country. “They’re killing 250,000, 300,000 in our country every single year.” The announcement comes just five days after Trump ordered an operation to capture and remove Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro to the United States to face criminal charges, including narco-terrorism. Trump gave a warning to several Latin American countries following the U.S. strike on Venezuela and Maduro’s capture. Related Stories The Epoch Times The president also warned Mexico on Sunday that it needs to “get its act together,” referring to drug cartels operating in the country. “You have to do something with Mexico,” Trump told reporters during his trip back to Washington from Florida. “We’re going to have to do something. We’d love Mexico to do it; they’re capable of doing it, but unfortunately, the cartels are very strong in Mexico.” Trump said that he had spoken to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on a number of occasions, saying that the United States has offered to send troops into her country. However, he described her as “afraid” and that the “cartels are running Mexico,” not her Mexico has repeatedly opposed U.S. proposals to fight drug cartels in the country. “We categorically reject intervention in the internal affairs of other countries,” Sheinbaum said during her daily morning press conference on Monday. “The history of Latin America is clear and compelling: Intervention has never brought democracy, never generated well-being, nor lasting stability.” Trump’s administration has intensified anti-cartel measures, including designating Mexican syndicates as terrorist organizations, a step he announced years ago. Officials say sea-based trafficking has been nearly halted, prompting a pivot to land operations. Trump has previously said no formal war declaration is necessary. “I think we’re just going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country,” Trump said on Oct. 23, 2025. U.S. officials have linked cartels to tens of thousands of American overdose deaths annually. Trump has criticized Sheinbaum for declining U.S. offers to dismantle the cartels. Trump did not give a timeline for land strikes against cartels. https://www.theepochtimes.com/...GUEY%2F%2FKflUbg0%3D _________________________

A comment posted on that Fox News story website noted: "Signage is one thing but every item in that facility that has reference to Hilton, Hampton or any other hotels of their chains will be removed. Check in forms, coffee cups, pencils. Everything." De-branded. Excellent.

What is you guys' opinion of Trump trying to obtain Greenland? Maybe I missed it being discussed, but somehow it doesn't feel quite right to me... trying to force the island out of the hands of the Danish. I understand it's strategic importance, but if Denmark doesn't want to play ball with the USA, is it right to keep forcing the issue? I'm undecided. Your opinions please... Nobody is forcing anything as far as Greenland is concerned. But the US acquiring Greenland would be an amazing addition to the USA. Just say'in. I would love to see it. It would be a strategic acquisition for sure. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Oh, I would love to see it also! It just seems like Trump is trying to force Denmark to relinquish control when it's their territory. I just added a link to a news article in my other post regarding this issue. Read it and you'll see what I'm talking about... ____________________________ Bill R. It is entirely about US strategic interests, primarily in three areas: 1. If you want missile defense against China, NK, and Russia, their ICBMs fly over the arctic to get here (unless sub launched). What is the shortest and best intercept to kill an incoming ICBM? Shooting it as close to the launch point as possible, with the intercept happening straight up. Since Canada is no longer a reliable ally, we need to look for better choices, hence Greenland. 2. Arctic shipping is a huge issue. It is the shortest route from Asia to Europe. That means massive numbers of ships transiting an area where responding to incidents (e.g., collision, grounding) is as far from an easy task as you can find in the environmental cleanup job. 3. Denmark and the EU have proven they are compromised. They point fingers at everyone, yet continue a colonial hold over people who have little in common with the Danes. Why not let the Greenlanders choose? Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

It's also worth pointing out that Trump knows most Europeans suffer from extreme TDS. He gets their leaders to do what he wants by having them think they are opposing him. He talks about leaving everything including military action on the table and in days NATO countries are talking up defense of Greenland and increased NATO spending. These are the things Trump could have led with and negotiated, but look how fast they react to a Trump "threat". Calgary Shooting Centre

Greenland belongs to us, and there is not a damn thing the wee little kingdom of Denmark or any other wee little kingdoms of Europe can do about it. He warned them to increase their contributions to NATO, he warned them to stop buying petro from Russia and he warned them about the Islam take over...they FA and now they FOed. _____________________________ Off finding Galt's Gulch

So, if the Greenland deal happens, how long before the first cruises to Greenland? Then all-encompassing cruise to Greenland and Iceland...maybe Ireland?
