The left is in serious trouble. The plan appears to be to go into the bunker with the broken, partisan, progressive media and agitate the left to the point of societal decline. At some point they have to pivot to some type of offense for the midterms, but no hint of a coherent strategy at this time. They seem pretty stunned that the country doesn't share their outrage.

Simple- the U.S. is a major proponent of free trade. Unfortunately the rest of the world aren't. To have free trade, our trade partners also have to act accordingly. For far too long, products come in and less of our products go out. Most countries around the world have tariffs against U.S. goods, but we don't have tariffs against their goods. So it isn't fair trade.

Many other countries are trying their best to rip us off like Mexico and China in any way they can. That bad behavior was being rewarded. Not anymore. Trump is using tariffs to force other countries to abide by the same trade rules they set on us. He's also using punitive tariffs to punish bad behavior, like lax border enforcement, drugs, etc.

Our economy can handle tariffs and theirs can’t. Especially in the long term. Mexico and Canada have already caved after realizing tariffs would ruin their economies. The Canadian economy is tied into the US, and it's fragile. For the U.S., possible short term pain for long term gain.

Thank you and others who responded to my question, much appreciated.

Their strategy is to complain about any and everything Trump does as to distract the plebes from understanding what is actually going on.

I'm curious why we're even doing that. Can or should Elon cancel his own contract?
Well, it was Biden’s staffers setting up the contract, it wouldn’t surprise in the least if Elon cancelled or recommended cancellation from the government side through DOGE.

Except, nobody did basic journalism until it was too late - because it was the Biden administration that originally included the potential procurement, and the spreadsheet was wiped of Tesla references in December 2024 - also by the Biden administration.

The procurement and its removal happened in Biden's administration.

It looks like I'm going to have to go full redneck. I've got the guns, obviously; go to church so I've got God.
But I don't have a pickup--looks like I have to trade my Accord for an F-150.
Then I have to start watching NASCAR and NHL.
Stop watching British TV shows--it's gotten so the accent gives me the creeps.
Get a case of PBR.
Have I forgotten anything?

Yes, as I recall, before the 1974 inspection (I don't know if it could even correctly be called an audit), there had been a pop culture rumor going around for several years that the vaults were empty, and it built to such a pitch that the government allowed inspectors and journalists into the vaults to have a look.

First thing I’d have done would to have hit those serial numbers and marks with a torch so it couldn’t have been traced.

That's only $386,109,707,934 worth based on my calculations. Which seems like a lot until you realize that it's far short of the trillions of dollars we're dealing in.

That's 93(slightly more) Fort Knox vaults worth of gold just to break even on our debt.

The argument about if there is gold at Fort Knox is like the argument about the existence of "Schrödinger's cat"; it's both there and it isn't until proven otherwise.

I would like to see President Trump personally go to Fort Knox with cameras and conduct the audit with live coverage.

Talk about Democrat heads exploding.
