Did the Dems plan for these people to NEVER return to work in the office, seems that way to me?

DC traffic backs up as 17K federal workers are expected at base with parking for 4,400

The "plan" was for most to take the subway to the Navy Yard METRO Station.

The "planners" are befuddled, having never asked if most people can do that.

Most cannot because of the price of housing near other METRO stations.

What about parking near other METRO stations?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Equally problematic.

For example, if I were to try to take public transport from where I am in Loudoun to the Navy Yard, I'd need to drive to a commuter bus lot, take the commuter bus to a METRO station, change to METRO, and make two line changes to get there. It would take 150 minutes, one way and cost about $25.

You'll also likely come back to a vehicle without a catalytic converter. Major problem in the area.

USAF has a similar issue:

Air Force Doesn’t Have Enough Desks for Everyone to Return to In-Person Work

Feb. 10, 2025 | By Unshin Lee Harpley

A week after ordering thousands of civilians and service members back to full-time in-person work, the Department of the Air Force has issued a new directive exempting some employees due to a shortage of workspace.

In a memo released Feb. 6, acting Air Force Secretary Gary A. Ashworth noted that the department has a lack of workstations in the Washington D.C. region and across Air Force and Space Force bases both in the U.S. and overseas.

With the current space crunch, some of the department’s civilian employees and service members will continue working remotely until additional capacity becomes available. The memo, however, did not specify how employees or units will be selected for telework eligibility at this time...

The Air Farce never heard of “hot bunking”? Have two, or even three shifts.

Day shift guy leaves, evening comes in and uses same desk.
Evening guy leaves, night shift guy comes in and uses the same desk.
Night shift guy leaves, day shift guy uses the same desk.
Rinse, repeat.

If they are returning to in-person work, it would lead one to believe they used to work in-person so:

#1 Question Everyone Should be Asking: Where the fook did all those desks go which in-person employees used to sit at???

#2 Question: As applied to the Navy Yard - How did the in-person employee(s) get to work before they were allowed to work from home? Did parking spaces magically disappear?

Some people simply aren't able to "return" to in-person work. In my daughter's case, she's been selected for telework since the Navy moved her husband to the base in Millington, TN in early 2017, before Covid. It would be impractical for her, with 3 kids now, to commute between Millington, TN and Monterey, CA. I don't know if there's a desk available for her in Monterey, CA or not but I do know the cost of living is a lot higher in Monterey than Millington.
