For anyone who has any doubt about the commitment of President Trump and AG Pam Bondi to our Second Amendment Rights, there is no doubt any more that they are solidly behind our Second Amendment Rights. The DOJ has filed an amicus brief in favor of law abiding gun owners for the Illinois AWB ban at the 7Th Circuit Court. William Kirk explains in much more detail in his video below. https://bearingarms.com/camedw...d-amendment-n1228941 --- Article from Bearing Arms website. https://www.justice.gov/opa/media/1403731/dl?inline --- link to Amicus brief Partial copy of text from article. "The brief, filed Friday with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, marks the first time that the Department of Justice has formally opposed a ban on so-called assault weapons, and comes as part of President Donald Trump's executive order directing all federal agencies to take the appropriate steps to safeguard the right to keep and bear arms. In the brief, the DOJ argues there are "three very good reasons" why the appellate court should reverse course and affirm the district court’s permanent injunction, despite overturning U.S. District Judge Stephen McGlynn's earlier decision granting a preliminary injunction against the gun and magazine ban. The DOJ brief declares that the Seventh Circuit simply got it wrong in a previous case dealing with an "assault weapons ban" called Bevis v. Naperville, in which the court declared that AR-15s and other semi-automatic long guns are “militaristic” firearms that fall beyond the scope of the Second Amendment's protection... "

I watched a bit of the Army parade yesterday, there in Washington and was disappointed at the number of troops completely out of step, good Lord do they not train on Drill & Ceremony at all anymore? I know our Army doesn’t do a whole lot of marching, but you think they could’ve practiced it and had someone calling cadence. We also have a short marching stride compared to other militaries like the British and I don’t think that helps. It’s barely longer than a walking stride. Did anyone else notice this?

I watched the parade for a while, and yes, PASig is right. Our troops don't seem to be terribly concerned about staying in step. That was also my experience when I was in the Army for a short time from 1969 through 1971. If one wants to view very highly disciplined marching, that will be found in Russian Victory Day parades, the Chinese Army on parade, and North Korean Army parades. For good marching skills, the British Army is no slouch. Regardless, I'll take the US Army any day, a little out of step or not.

The more impressive an army look on the parade ground, the less impressive they will be on the battlefield. I've seen many footage of PLA and NKA soldiers goose stepping in perfect unison. All that tells me is they are rigid, overly obedient, and unwilling/unable to adjust to changing situations.

I saw a few of the videos on various news sites and the most obvious part to me-the lack of anything that mentioned the President. We've heard for several weeks about the cost, King day, etc. and yet pretty much nothing about Trump beyond a shot of him saluting soldiers as they marched by. As it should be. He is, after all, the President on this occasion. My dads birthday was also June 14th and he would have been 100 years old. He was in the Army and fought in the Pacific in WW2 so that date and association was always in my mind. I hadn't thought about this celebration being about the 250th anniversary of the US military until that was recently pointed out. Actually the US flag was officially adopted in 1777 so there's still two years to go for that event. Hopefully these other negative stories will quietly go away, now that the world didn't end. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I'm not sure what to think of this business decision, but at least they wouldn't mess with their conservative subscribers. https://www.newsmax.com/financ...dkt_nbr=0101027c2qcw Trump Organization Unveils Self-Branded Mobile Phone Network The Trump Organization launched a self-branded mobile service and a $499 smartphone Monday, dubbed Trump Mobile, signaling a new effort to court conservative consumers with a wireless service positioned as an alternative to major telecom providers. The new mobile venture will include call centers based in the United States and phones made in America, the organization said. "We are going to be introducing an entire package of products where people can come and they can get telemedicine on their phones for one flat monthly fee, roadside assistance on their cars, unlimited texting to 100 countries around the world," said the president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., announcing the product at Trump Tower in New York. The Trump family, long known for its real estate empire, luxury hotels, and golf resorts, has in recent years ventured into newer arenas including digital media and cryptocurrency. The Trump Organization, which is the main holding entity for most of the U.S. president's business ventures, said ahead of Trump's inauguration that control of the company would be handed to his children, replicating the arrangement from his first term, though concerns about potential conflicts of interest remain. A website that went live after the announcement included details of the new Trump-branded smartphone that will be available from September, and a $47.45 a month subscription plan to the new network. DTTM Operations — the entity managing President Trump's trademarks — has filed applications to use his name and the term "T1" for telecom-related services. The filings, submitted Thursday to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, cover mobile phones, accessories like cases and chargers, wireless telephone services, and possibly even retail stores. The smartphone industry in the United States is among the most saturated and competitive in the world, with leading global players Apple and Samsung dominating the market. More than 60 million smartphones are purchased annually by American consumers, but nearly all of these devices are manufactured abroad — primarily in China, South Korea, and increasingly in India and Vietnam. Despite the strength of U.S.-based tech brands, there is no significant domestic smartphone production infrastructure, largely due to high labor costs, supply chain complexity, and reliance on overseas component sourcing. The U.S. mobile network market is dominated by three national carriers: Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, which together control over 95% of the wireless market. These companies operate massive, capital-intensive infrastructures and offer bundled services to tens of millions of subscribers.

To be fair, even the USMC pales to the 'showmanship' of the PLA. Not that silent drill team, mind you. _______________________________ The artist formerly known as AllenInWV

I LOATHED parades when I was in. I was fortunate to never do one in public, and only had two brigade-level change-of-command ceremonies which involved the pass and review thing. This was in Germany back in the 80s, so I assume the State-side divisional-level CoCs had to be worse. So I didn't see anything of this parade for the 250th birthday. I DID see a ton of ignorant (to put it politely) comments about the noise of the Sherman, the age/'fitness' of the owners (I assume) operating the vintage stuff, and of course "Why is the Air Force flying those old planes over the Army parade?" What I'm curious about is was there any coverage from the area where the VIPs were watching? I can see the Soldiers being given a command to route step away from the VIP viewing area, especially if they are blaring music. But I can't believe they'd be strolling past where the President/dignitaries were. _______________________________ The artist formerly known as AllenInWV

Trump beheading post by North Carolina lawmaker prompts calls for her resignation On social media, von Haefen is accused of posting an image of a woman holding signage with the image of a bloody, used guillotine; the words “In these difficult times, some cuts may be necessary”; and a prop on one end of the handle representing a beheaded Trump. https://justthenews.com/nation...alls-her-resignation Calls for the resignation of a North Carolina lawmaker, Democratic Rep. Julie von Haefen of Wake County, advocating the decapitation of President Donald Trump escalated Saturday and into Sunday. On social media, von Haefen is accused of posting an image of a woman holding signage with the image of a bloody, used guillotine; the words “In these difficult times, some cuts may be necessary”; and a prop on one end of the handle representing a beheaded Trump. Minutes after The Center Square sought authentication from her office, she posted to Facebook, “Yesterday, I posted a video on social media containing crowd photos from the No Kings protest in Raleigh. One of the images of a protestor holding a sign was inappropriate, and I later edited the video to remove the photo. “Let me be clear: I condemn political violence in all forms. My focus remains on bringing people together and fighting for the values that matter to North Carolinians. Like so many, I was horrified by the violence in Minnesota. There is no place for that kind of extremism in our democracy, no matter the target, no matter the party.” Von Haefen did not offer an apology. Her caption on Saturday morning said, “No Kings Protest in Raleigh. Amazing turnout all across the Triangle today, including this event at the Capitol hosted by Wake Democrats and North Carolina Democrats.” There were hashtags for an expletive, no kings and Raleigh. The image, however, drew the criticism. Her actions Saturday morning is at odds with her midafternoon Sunday statement, as pointed out by many voters and other colleagues in the General Assembly. While the Facebook account associated with her campaign from last fall is active, her account on X does not exist anymore. “This is why reasonable people are leaving the Democrat Party in North Carolina,” said Rep. Erin Paré, a Wake County Republican. “This is a sitting state legislator who is publicly applauding the beheading of President Trump just hours after a state legislator in our country and her spouse were murdered in cold blood. Horrible." The North Carolina Republican Party on Sunday morning said, “Political violence should be condemned, not encouraged.” Rep. Chris Humphrey, R-Lenoir, said, “Some people hate a duly elected leader, who won by landslide, more than they love America.” Midafternoon Sunday, first-term Democratic Gov. Josh Stein, Republican House Speaker Destin Hall of Caldwell County and Republican Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger had not commented publicly on von Hafen. Von Haefen, certified Guardian ad Litem according to her campaign website, first won election to the state House of Representatives in the 2018 midterms. She’s been reelected three times and touts her work with the parent teacher organizations at the school, county and state levels. She’s licensed to practice law in Ohio, Arizona and California. The North Carolina Democratic Party remained silent on von Haefen’s actions. About six hours after her post, the party chairwoman issued a statement about what happened in Minnesota on Saturday. There, a lawmaker and her husband were shot to death, and another lawmaker and his wife were injured in a shooting. One man is being sought for both shootings. “We condemn these horrific acts and stand united against all forms of violence, especially those driven by political motives,” Chairwoman Anderson Clayton said. “Our hearts and thoughts are with the families as they navigate this unimaginable tragedy.” The No Kings protests were held in rebuttal to Trump hosting a parade celebrating the Army's 250th anniversary. More than 1,700 were scheduled, including 27 in the Tarheel State. For context, and Republicans say irony, most of the protests Saturday were led by the party – Democrats – that was insistent on vaccine shots to retain federal jobs including the military; led the closure and slow reopening of schools during COVID-19; and held primaries for president last year only to welcome Kamala Harris and eventually Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as their ticket 107 days for the election. Trump won by more than 2 million votes, sweeping the seven swing states in electoral college votes 93-0. _________________________
