I thought of that but this is a significant and different issue. The LDS Church typically charters more organizations than any other entity in the US. With their leaving, the BSA will lose a huge percentage of scouts, leaders, and $$$. A different issue than the earlier thread.

So you don't think it's related to their recent move of accepting girls? (Not that I can blame them). I'm thinking it's tied exactly to that issue as peeps are talking about the whole $$ issue.

Nice, really dig the Expanse.

BSA knew this was coming, that's why they decided to try to offset the loss of membership by allowing girls in. It's a money grab.

Gays, trans, girls, erosion of the traditional values that Mormons especially are sensitive to.

This has been bubbling ominously since the big squabble in San Diego in the mid-80s over gay Scoutmasters, and similar.

BSA goes with the progressives. Mormons won’t.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

LDS has their own organization like the Scouts. They've been headed for the door for some time now.

Good for the LDS...SCREW the liberal, progressive BSA. When they started openly admitting gay scouts up to the age of 18, I knew it was down hill. Why would you put an 18 year old gay guy in a tent with a 12 year old? These ass wipes have no common sense....So, now you want to put a 17 or 18 year old dude in the tent area of 12 and 13 year old girls?? This is a disaster waiting to happen and I will be rolling around laughing my butt off at these idiots. These left wing, liberal, progressive democrats will ultimately self destruct and all I will say is...."This is what you voted for and supported so I have no sympathy for you ass holes".

The is not the BSA I was a part of nor my sons (both Eagles). It's sad that an organization like the Boy Scouts cow down to the left and their BS. Chris

So in the balance what did Scouting gain that they claimed were the justifications for their allowing girls to join the boys?

My oldest son was a Cub Scout, very enthusiastic. He looked like a South Americna Army Colonel in his uniform with so many earned awards, etc.

As he approached Boy Scout age, this fracas broke out in San Diego, over a gay man who was a Scout leader. There was a tremendous bunch of carrying on. The Boy Scout troop we had been expecting to join disbanded. I tried a few times to get one going to no avail.

As it continued, the area men, judges, lawyers, business leaders, etc. who were civic leaders, charity boards, etc. started dropping out. It got to where it was better to have been in the Ku Klux Klan than to have been a Boy Scout. BSA was dropped ofrom United Way, and their use of buildings in Balboa Park were threatened, along with the canoe boating facility on Mission Bay, public land you know.

There is no more eloquent evidence of the decline in our culture than the disrespect Boy Scouts endured these last few decades. A pity.

The God Damned Commies aren’t builders. Building stuff is not compatible with the ideals. Look at all countries under communism. Did any of them ever build anything, except walls, of course?

We as Americans stood by, and slowly and incrementally allowed many of our values and traditions to be taken away.

Big fight will now center on the Bill of Rights.
It is coming.
