This account is empty of funds and was last used nearly 15 years ago. I nearly forgot I had it, that is until I got two e-mails from them, a few minutes apart, with access codes to reset my password. The e-mails themselves are legit, not spoofed. Since I did not initiate any such contact, I assume somebody else did.

Yes. Not sure how they got your username, unless it is a very simple "dictionary" name. Log in, change the password and set 2-step verification. Then you can relax for another 15 years. ![]() "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא שוב!

Yeah, cancel the account. If you haven't used it for 15 yrs, what's the point of keeping it? Q

I'm gonna go with BigSwede and Q on this one: If you're not using it: Delete it. It's unwise to leave something like that laying about, unused. I don't use mine often, anymore, but I do use it 2-3 times/year, on-average. Otherwise mine'd be gone. "America is at that awkward stage. I get a few fake PayPal emails a month. Mainly saying my account was charged for some crap. I dont click on any links attached and when I check my account, there are no unauthorized charges. As other have said, if you dont use PayPal then delete it. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

^^^ This. There are a ton of bogus PayPal phishing emails floating out there. They look legit but the links route you to a fraudster’s fake PayPal site rather than the legit one. They ask you to sign in and check your PayPal account and then the fraudster actually does have your PayPal account credentials.

Thank you Very little ![]() |
Got several of those "someone is trying to get into your paypal account" years ago, since I wasn't buying anything with it, so I just deleted it. Today you can use Zelle or any other payment service, paypal isn't as necessary as it used to be...

Oh, yep, I get those fake emails off and on too. I do use PayPal occasionally, so I don’t want to delete it. What I do I go directly to the PayPal site, and just check activity to make sure nothing happened. I did change the password a while back, I’ve been starting to change passwords recently for other sites too. One time though, I did get an email stating I was having $400 some charged for something, and so had to go thru the PayPal account and deny the request, that was the only time so far I’ve ever had that happen. If I hadn’t disputed it, I would have lost that money, probably a scammer. But yeah, I never click links from emails, it’s too hard to tell sometimes if they are legit or not.
