I have noticed with Toyota they make runs of certain colors. A dealerships lot had 3 white tacomas on the lot. When I friend got his Tacoma a few years ago he had the choice between green and green.

I guess I’m boring. I prefer white trucks with light colored interiors. It gets real hot in the Chihuahuan Desert.

It could have been an individual color, probably Java Green (?), costs about $5k. They did have a nice dark green for the M8 a few years ago, I wish my M5 was that green. "Ninja kick the damn rabbit"

I agree. My daily driver, and truck are both metallic silver. Daily driver is 10 years old. I leased it before I bought it from them but had I bought it first I would have done PPF and ceramic as both my truck and performance car have the PPF/Ceramic treatment. But even the 10 year old paint looks good still. It’s just the clearcoat is getting real thin. Don’t really care as it needs to make it two more years so I can finally replace it. My performance car is also a metallic paint called Heavy Metal, which is right in between metallic grey and silver. Depends on the light, which color it favors. These colors look half way decent when dirty and the metallic paint, with the flakes, really comes out when clean and detailed. My ski and one of my bikes are white because got damn they get hot in the sun. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I think that's true of most manufacturers. I worked on a project in an auto factory. One of the things that we had to take into account is that when the paint shop started a run with a new color, it took a bit of time to get everything dialed in. The first car bodies that were painted in any color typically had to be sent back to the "paint hospital" for correction. Once they got the color going correctly, it was cost-effective to run a large batch of cars in that color. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

When I went hunting for mine I wanted the Blue Apex Pearl with red leather interior. Very rare. ___________________ "He who is without oil, shall throw the first rod" Compressions 9.5:1

I like a medium Metallic Grey because it seems to make cars invisible to the local PD and State PD patrol cars. I've stopped counting.

I really love Mazda’s red. That said, my big issue in broiling Texas was searching for a car that did NOT have a black or dark gray interior, which most did. My Toyota is Creme Brûlée taupe, which is okay and boring, but more importantly, has a blond leather interior that is cooler.

Yea noticed that flat gray fad as well. Then just last week on a car I noticed that people had nicknamed it "Concrete". Ha... Nailed it! Collecting dust.

They call it the "primer look." Not really a fan. Think it's just a fad, sort of like Flat Dark Earth is for firearms (though OK I like that one).

Yep. Mazda's Soul Red is the best factory red out there, hands down. Unfortunately, with that comes: -Higher demand (since everyone else seems to agree too) -Higher cost premium at purchase -Higher paint damage repair costs I wanted a Soul Red CX-5, but couldn't find one in the configuration I wanted, so settled for my 2nd choice of white.

My Bronco is Robin’s Egg Blue, and I totally dig it. So do others. -- I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. JALLEN 10/18/18 https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...610094844#7610094844

My father was cheap and so the station wagon he bought was pea green. He also bought a compact car without a radio, because it was cheaper.

I've been saying white is the new black for a few years now. There are times my black pick-up looks like an ink spot on a white dress shirt.

Eye on the Silver Lining |
Yes. I was just chatting to my husband about this today. I know the flat grey edged in black is really popular right now, but it has zero depth and lustre. Certainly no sparkle. Reminds me of an old baseball shirt. Hate it. “Concrete” fits. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

I looked up the above using the ol' Googletron. Wasn't quite the same; the Java Green Metallic that came up in most of the results actually looks good and like legit paint, but this one I saw had a more yellowish tint in its green and definitely wasn't metallic. Instead it was VERY "day-glow" in appearance and characteristic. Really seemed to give off a 'plasticky' kind of sheen and vibe, which lead me to think that this particular BMW I saw was wrapped. Of course if BMW offers a paint-to-sample program like Porsche does, then all bets are off. -MG
