Holy crap! You are old. Tell you what, as you head to the day, email me and I'll buy your birthday cake. I'm still young and healthy and I should be around to do it.

30 year professional barber here. Also an old man. I cut my ear and nose hair weekly in my shop because I have the gear. It is relentless. I refer to it, and many other things as the petty indignities of aging. Sure beats the alternative. Smile

Two things bring me to tears. The unconditional Love of God,the service of the United States Military, past, present, and future.

I would rather meet
a slick-sleeve private,
than a hollywood star!

Twenty years ago this fall I started taking classes with Bruce Gray. I could run and gun--not with the best, but so it felt good. I can never contemplate backpacking again. I've traveled to many parts of the world without a care about my health. 9 years ago I went to Malawi and almost died from pneumonia. You won't find me making any third-world trips any more.
Probably won't find me more than 30 miles from a major hospital. Well living full time anyway.
In San Diego the last hike I did with retired physician friends was 5.6 miles and a 1000 foot elevation. That was my limit.

I have a couple of old rugs for laying down and a half dozen high density foam kneeling pads in strategic spots around the garage, shop and basement.

I try to avoid kneeling on the ground and I NEVER kneel on concrete without a pad.

A corollary to that policy is "Never kneel - much less lay down - without a plan on how to get back up!"

Closing in on 75 I found a great solution for the relentless hair growth from my nose, ears, and neck.
The top of my head is almost bald so I do a comb over using the nose, ear, and neck hair.
