lost dog i found in the rain during the storms yesterday. the county is closed for some stupid holiday today so i can't get the owner's info off the tag. there's no microchip. he's a good boy. they had him in the crate all during dayshift because no one on days is a dog person. i'm working 5:30p-6:30a today and he's been fine running around the station. He just had dinner and is asleep under the table. It's been over 24 hrs, no one has called to report their dog missing.  Not minority enough! | |||

Found the owner. She's an elderly disabled lady who went to the hospital. Her son was supposed to be taking care of the dog. Sadly, I refused to return the dog after checking it's living conditions. The dog was never let outside and only poops in the house. I was wondering why this dog never pooped all night whenever any of us walked him (anyways, he pooped in the conference room several times which we didn't notice but dayshift sure did). Our animal warden is keeping the dog at the animal clinic while we work on making our seizure legal and getting the dog into a better home. If I didn't already have two dogs, seven cats, two snakes, a hamster, a rabbit and a tarantula, I'd probably take him home. Not minority enough! | |||

Dogs and cats, especially as man has tamed them to be our furry companions for the last few thousands years has been the best investment mankind has ever done in the animal kingdom, even better than gathering herding animals for food. A constant friend, confidant, and protector. These friends of mankind have changed us for the better. Allowing us to build a lifetime (theirs) friendship and bond, they take the most when we are down, alone and desperate for any type of positive companionship. Yet, all they ask for is food and a safe place to sleep. Do you think they understand what they do for us? As an actual partnership bond ? It’s a shame man’s greatest friend is treated so shittitedly by so many. I have always had a greater bond with my dogs and cats than with real humans over the years In my worst of times they never abandoned me, and i provided the same for them. A human is a friend to a limit/ decision. An animal is a friend till their end, and you better have enough care and respect for that friend when it is time. To hold them longer is very selfish on your part. | |||
