I feel you. I got ambushed by my wife of 19 years with a police call during an argument and then served with a temp order of protection and dispossession. We have a 17 year old headed to Vanderbilt in Aug and a 7 year old, both girls. She did the two things she knew would hurt the most, separate me from my daughters and firearms. So beside being homeless and away from contact with my kids, I’m also disarmed. It’s ironic because she’s the only that has been physical in an argument. This will be both of our second marriages ending. I can’t believe I’ll ever do this again. I just turned 59. Sorry you went through it.

I'm never sure if I'm sorry or congratulations is the appropriate response. My first marriage lasted less then a year. She waited until I was out at sea for a week, cleaned out the apartment, and left. She had issues and I'm pretty sure if I had treated her like shit and slapped her around a little she would still be here but I'm not wired that way. My 2nd wife was part of the couple my 1st wife and I were closest to. She was a witness for my first marrage and the 4 of us hung out together all the time. A few years later they split up. She moved back to Jax, and she started hanging out with me and my diving friends and things went from there. We’ve been together for around 35 years. “We truly live in a wondrous age of stupid.” - 83v45magna "I think it's important that people understand free speech doesn't mean free from consequences societally or politically or culturally." -Pranjit Kalita, founder and CIO of Birkoa Capital Management

Your wife #1 and my #1 sound very similar, it did last quite a bit longer in my case but it did end the same. _____________________________________________ Proverbs 3:31 "Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways."

I'm on number 3 myself. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary and I couldn't be happier. But, never again. I don't want to deal with breaking in another wife. I'll just buy a dog to talk to and find a really understanding sheep Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

Sounds like they should all just live together. _____________________________________________ Proverbs 3:31 "Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways."

4 years divorced from marriage #1, not in a hurry for anything serious. I dabble a little, that’s about it. Sometimes I just put my phone on airplane mode & go about life. The rest of the times it’s on silent.

I knew I finally got it right when the length of my third marriage exceeded the total of my first two.

Two engagements for me. Walked from one, ran from the other. I still have nightmares..that I would have went through with either. I’ve never hired a divorced lawyer and never seen no divorce judge. Very proud of both. I would love to be married to take care of the sin (boom boom) but I just don’t agree with the legal system regarding marriage. If you stacked dead men up 1 by 1, whom have been fucked over in a divorce..it wouldn’t stretch to the moon. It would stretch to Mars. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

One prior engagement for me, it was better that it ended when it did. Ended it, walked away, no subsequent communication despite one of her friends efforts. Been wed since ‘79. Two friends remarried their exes. Outcomes, same as the first time around. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. I’m thinking about going slightly unconventional. I can’t delve all the details, but parts are attractive. She’s under 30, not in the USA, wants a baby. I realize it may sound troublesome, yes well versed in DNA testing. I’m still doing serious evaluation, it’s been about 2 years.

I married the love of my life in 1997. 14 years later I found out we had irreconcilable differences. I couldn’t get along with her new boyfriend. I dated a bit. Then found out I liked being able to find my boots in the morning. And I never did like being rushed about doing dishes. Never say never, but I found out I can be alone w/o being lonely. I don’t see me doing that again. One and done. Oh, I also learned that you don’t truly know a woman til you take her to court.

If I’m not too bold, is this the Filipina? Is her age important? Maybe I’ve got the wrong guy, but there was some thread about this a while ago and it might’ve been leftysig that posted a must read story about trickery that can go on, certainly not from just folks in the Philippines. “Private dancer”, I think was the book name. Or maybe he was the one singing Asian women praises as most subservient, submissive, appreciative, etc. Either way, as long as your eyes are wide open, I hope it goes well. I have a nephew that brought home a Filipina bride last year. Have yet to meet her, but he looks happy in the pics. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."
