Ordered a chest freezer back on 15 October. Knew there'd be a wait as every place was out of stock. Got notified yesterday that it had arrived locally. Tried to schedule a delivery online but the system wouldn't work so I called the 888 number. Earliest they had for delivery was 1 March! WTFO! This is a 7 mile distance from the store to my house.

Tried to call the local store but again ended up with a call center. Went through several folks, the last spent 10 minutes keying in background required before he could transfer me to a supervisor. Then the call drops when trying to transfer me. Total of 73 minutes shot to hell. @#$%^&*^&*&*!!!!!

Trying to find some young bucks with a pickup that can get it for me instead.

Of the 3 Best Buy's near me, 2 of them have closed in the past 2 years.

Last time I was in one a few years back, it felt sad and empty.

Now they tell me sorry "Your Best Buy order created on 10/15/2021 is ready" email doesn't mean that it is available now at your local store. This when trying to change from home delivery to pickup.

What a bunch of asshats!

It's probably not even at their BB store bald1. They have a distribution warehouse about 20 minutes from me where most of the large items they sell are kept, and loaded for delivery. I would venture to guess they have a similar set-up in other locations as well.

Maybe you’ve heard about the supply chain issues?

Or maybe the labor shortage issues?

No?

Well, there ya go…that’s the situation.

Blame Brandon…not Best Buy.

I tried to buy a chest freezer in June 2020.

Got screwed over by HD and Lowe’s (the latter, twice). Finally got one in October 2020 through BestBuy, which was also the only place I could find the washer & dryer I was looking for actually available at the time.

It’s kind of like the “who sucks worse” game played by USPS, UPS, and FedEx.

It’s all about right time, right place.

Yeah I spent a LOT of time researching the make/model I ended up selecting. Of all the vendors BB had the best price. Had bought large TVs from them pre-covid without issues.

Yeah I expected issues with container ships and supply chain as everyone was out of stock. Ordered in October with a projected delivery date of 19 January. But that has gone to shit as my posts above show.

No, Best Buy’s problems predate Biden and Covid

They got too big and tried to do too much and didn’t adapt when competitors like Target, Walmart and Amazon began selling the same TV’s and other electronic gear for less.

Do you have a Lowe's or Home Depot by you? You could rent their truck for about $25 for an hour if no one has a truck.

Sam's has a lousy chest freezer selection.

Hope you get it worked out.

I haven’t been to BB in years. They are woke. They aren’t the best buy. The sales people don’t know anything. They don’t have the models i generally want.

For appliances, I’ve had luck with going to an independent appliance store.

I hadn't been to Best Buy in years but tried it recently for a gift order. I ordered an Apple Watch online for same day store pick up. I received the email that it's ready. The store is about 35 minutes away. When I got there, I was told I couldn't pick it up because all of their computers were down. The manager had no idea what to do. Even though the email said it was ready for pick up, the item wasn't actually in the pick up area. Apparently grabbing another Apple Watch was too complicated, so I just cancelled the order and added Best Buy to the list of places I'll never buy from again.

There is a Worst Buy store about ten minutes from my house. I have NEVER had a satisfactory experience at that store.

I only use them if it's something that I need right now and they are the only place within reasonable distance that has it, and every single experience, without exception, has been unsatisfactory and unpleasant.

Salt in the wound. Their "placeholder" for home delivery has been moved from 1 March to 1 April. WTF!

Best Buy sucks and has for ages. Any time I go in for something I don't want to order online or that isn't readily available elsewhere I go in knowing I need to be fully educated on the product as their employees are brainless. And that isn't new. I worked at Circuit City in 2002-03 as a high school kid and even for that low level job there was lots of training for product knowledge and that was just for selling music, movies and games. The guys who sold computers and home theater knew their stuff up and down. Fast forward a few years and I'm in Best Buy for something CC didn't have. Ran into a girl I knew from CC who switched jobs and she said her favorite thing was they had next to none of the product training. And it shows.

I had one experience with Best Buy about a decade ago and swore I'd never go back. So far I've kept to my word.
So in my book, an unbelievably bad experience there is hard to define.
