Seriously.

Ten seconds on the U Tubes or the Wikithingie and you could count the number of propellor blades that were present on a Bf 109 in 1942. Or for that matter on ANY Bf109. THREE. Three is it. Period. Not four. Three.

I can somewhat get the fact that you throw a bunch of Bf 108s into the scene. Why not… German… made by the same company… kind of looks like… Not to mention that they are actually sort of present today as flying examples of “Messerschmitt”… Never mind that at most you might find only one or two spread around bases as squadron hacks in the early 1940s. Whatever. History.

But you go the trouble of making mock-ups of the 109s you want to blow up for your exciting scenes of awesome SAS coolness. Truly good stuff! And what’s better you are doing it with a Netflix budget! Lots of zeros!!!

So…. THREE propellor blades!!! For fucks sake, it’s actually LESS work for you.

And yeah. Hispano Suiza. Whatever. Get it right.

Jeered, my Tism gets in the way of so much entertainment!

Well.. or possibly about those guys whose cheeks are suspiciously rosy…

Admittedly, I probably need to switch to decaf after about thirteen hours in to OT. It is supposed to be relax down time. I may need to chill a bit in regards to my expectations of reality based depictions of early WW2 African Theater operations,

I've built two bf109 models, an Emil and a Gustav. Both three blades. Never read up much on the Spanish types. Need to build an F.

Threadjacking: I find the frequency and consistency with which people spell “rogue” as “rouge” noteworthy. RogueJSK is called RougeJSK more often than by his correct handle spelling. This has bugged me for years. More so than the number of prop blades on a TV show.

Anything aviation in movies or tv will be grossly incorrect. Outside of true documentaries. All those aviation "experts" that pop up on the news shows after an accident are hopelessly ignorant, too.

I view aviation in movies or tv the same as science fiction or those historical fiction with gay paraplegic black medieval kings of England. Potentially entertaining but nothing to do with reality.

This is why season 2 has a disclaimer at the start:

"This is not a history lesson."
