The execs called a meeting for all the managers and I was specifically asked to attend by the owner. They are flying in the reps and planners. The managers are about to have a new JR exec over them.

My progress hasn't gone unnoticed since Nemesis™ has been de-fanged. She had been torpedoing my advance for years and they now know it. She managed to start three fights last week alone, THEN started her shit with the VP over me being in a pre-production meeting. Her job is ONLY to proof quotes for mistakes and consistency. She's no longer a manager. Hasn't been for a while.

My retribution will be draconian.

I don’t understand how this woman still has a job if she’s such a disaster and everyone hates her? Is she somehow protected at least up till now?

The zombie thread is resurrected.

Nemesis hasn't been much of a thorn in my side lately.

My close friend and fellow director/art manager lost his fight to pancreatic cancer last weekend. He was just as integral as I am here.

I got called up to the board meeting and instructed to take his understudy under my wing. No problem. I taught for 15 years, I can straighten him out.

The meeting wasn't about that, though. There was a major unforeseen problem with installed product. The inserts are warping in the frames.

They kept EVERYONE else involved out of the meeting because they didn't want finger pointing, accusations and wrong guesses. I said I would reproduce the issue and solve it. From the photos, there was a serious environmental issue. (extremely high humidity) More than likely they stored our crates in the parking garage.

I ran various sections of the project on different materials from hard vinyl to polyester to the normal laminated paper, but encapsulation laminated.

I put them in frames and placed them in the worst part of the warehouse. Even my normal work did not have an issue.

I brought my results back to the board and they said to use the encapsulation method as it only added one step and kept the cost down.

I also came up with a way to keep the new frames being assembled from preventing the inserts from expanding and contracting with just a simple pre-stressing process.

I got told by the way, we are sending you to Orlando to purchase more equipment and expand your department. Choose your team.

Well, we had an employee anniversary celebration Friday and I had tried to find my friend's name plate on the achievement wall and it was gone.

I will do something without permission and not even ask forgiveness of it is to make things better.

I went and made a new nameplate. This time it would be metallic silver with gold lettering.

In Memoriam of (Dear Friend) 1999-2024

I caught boss at 6:00AM and handed it to him. He just looked at it and choked up and said it was brilliant.

During the ceremony, he said that lastly we can't forget those who made them such a huge success and he had earned his place permanently onto the wall.

He said then, it was my idea and for me to go and place him on the wall.

I placed his new plaque up at the 25 year section and just spoke a single phrase into the mic.

Making this simple plaque was both the easiest and hardest job I have ever had to do.

Have similar shit going on at work. But it’s 3 of them, not one. I pray, every day, that I get a similar outcome to yours. Congratulations.
