Most every Name brand is just a name, owned by someone else, and selling yet another's crap. A-Brad's "short list" would be better. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא עוד

They used to. The more standard work pants did last time I looked. The lightweight synthetic pants I used fishing no longer do.

Apparently Western digital disk drives are no longer as reliable as the used to be. I was looking for 2TB portable drives and the reviews from multiple sources were not encouraging. Quality and longevity are no longer a part of WD drives. Golden lads and girls all must, As chimney-sweepers, come to dust.

How can they stay in business unless you have to constantly keep buying their replacement drives? _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. How can they stay in business unless you have to constantly keep buying their replacement drives? That is all well and good, but this is not a $20 t-shirt to be thrown away after 1 season of wear. These are for backups or family photos and I can't be spending $100-$200 dollars every year. Drives used to last up to 10 years, today I would not trust them after 10 months. Wearing a Carhartt T-shirt right now that is less than a year old. Cost $24, IIRC. Neck is stretched out and frayed. Pocket is tearing off at the corners. Not what they used to be! End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Go-Jo. Hardly any pumice in it anymore and Dawn removes grease better than it does. Maybe I'll just buy some pumice and add it to a bottle of Dawn. ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. "Fast Orange" works very well. You have to apply it "dry", if you get your hands wet, it won't cut the grease. (it's not so much the pumice, as the de-greasers that emulsifies the grease and grime) But if you use if, and work it well and loosen all the grease (and a nail brush), then rinse with water, it gets all the grease off. (and I have used about every product since the 70s) A lot of the old stuff, like the green pumice we used to scoop out of the can, had to be used with water. And I tried the Fast Orange that way and fought to get my hands clean, and still resorted to Dawn and blue scrubbies. Try a small bottle, use it dry and work it until all the grime is lifting before using water. And it does not de-fat your skin and make it dry or chapped. I saw a couple of mentions of 'Carhart'. A couple of years ago we hosted a foreign exchange student from Italy. She was amazed at us crazy Americans for wearing Carhart to work in. In Europe, or Italy at least, Carhart is a young persons fashion trend thing. Who woulda thunk it? Rednecks- Keeping the woods critter-free since March 2, 1836.

It has increasingly become that in the US as well. Blue collar cosplay. Kinda like all the guys in the South and West who dress like farmers/ranchers/cowboys but have never done a lick of manual labor in their lives.

Tilley Hats are not what they used to be. Some of the models are not made in Canada.

And none of them have the same fit...even from the same overseas country they were made in and the same size. One of them fit right and the other one was so off it became a shop rag. And speaking of T-shirts, why are the vast majority of T-shirts nowadays made from this stretchy tissue paper thin fabric? Bring back thick cotton T-shirts dammit! ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. Yep and American trucks in particular full size ones. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Motorola split off the cell phone business in 2011, called Motorola Mobility. It was subsequently bought by Google for their patents then sold to Lenovo. So any Motorola cell phone you see today is actually a Lenovo phone. JP
