I had to live at home and put myself through college. My HS grades were way too low because of my distracted laziness. My SAT scores were average.

I had to get a job, work and go to school, so it CAN be done.

Glad to hear it worked out so well for the young lady. The extra money from Grandpa is almost like a Frank Capra movie !

Brought back memories of my late Dad. I was financing my college by working as a labor at a construction company. The summer after my second year i was making great money working OT and thought i was hot stuff (1975). I told my Dad i was going to work and finish college later. He knew the company owner and snitched. The owner said "The hell he will, let's fire his ass!". I didn't find out the whole story until years later after i graduated with my engineering degree.
