One Major Paper Warned About the Software Company at the Center of Ballot Glitches in Swing States

The Michigan State Republican Party on Friday revealed that a software glitch caused 6,000 Republican ballots to be counted towards Democrat's totals. The issue was eventually corrected when officials in Antrim County hand counted the ballots, which caused their county to flip to President Donald Trump. According to Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman, 48 of the state's 83 counties use the same software from Dominion Voting Systems.

There are now issues arising in Georgia in Spalding and Morgan Counties after it was revealed that a software update Monday night caused voting machines to crash on Election Day.

Spalding County Board of Elections Supervisor Marcia Ridley told POLITICO Dominion Voting Systems performed an update on machines. KnowInk, which makes electronic poll books to sign voters, also created an update. Both are something that is out of the norm, Ridley said.

"That is something that they don’t ever do. I’ve never seen them update anything the day before the election,” Ridley explained, saying she had no idea what was in the update.

Dominion Voting Systems said the software had no impact in Georgia.

“Re Gwinnett – There is no evidence of any system software problem,” Kay Stimson, Dominion Voting Systems vice president of government affairs, in told The Washington Times in an email. “My understanding is that the system was hanging at certain points in processing adjudicated ballots due to a workstation set-up issue. Our technicians worked with the county to address it, and election officials moved on to re-adjudicating ballots by the next day.”

These "glitches" cause concerns, especially with close voter tallies in multiple states. The common factor: Dominion Voting Systems. The system is being used in many states across the nation, including in key battleground states, like Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and Florida.

The Denver Post brought up concerns about these machines earlier this year when election officials throughout the country were scrambling to make sure their machines were secure from Russian hackers ahead of November's election:

Called ballot-marking devices, the machines have touchscreens for registering voter choice. Unlike touchscreen-only machines, they print out paper records that are scanned by optical readers. South Carolina voters will use them in Saturday’s primary. The most pricey solution available, they are at least twice as expensive as the hand-marked paper ballot option. They have been vigorously promoted by the three voting equipment vendors that control 88 percent of the U.S. market. Some of the most popular ballot-marking machines, made by industry leaders Election Systems & Software and Dominion Voting Systems, register votes in bar codes that the human eye cannot decipher. That’s a problem, researchers say: Voters could end up with printouts that accurately spell out the names of the candidates they picked, but, because of a hack, the bar codes do not reflect those choices. Because the bar codes are what’s tabulated, voters would never know that their ballots benefited another candidate. Even on machines that do not use bar codes, voters may not notice if a hack or programming error mangled their choices. A University of Michigan study determined that only 7 percent of participants in a mock election notified poll workers when the names on their printed receipts did not match the candidates they voted for. ... Pivotal counties in the crucial states of Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Carolina have bought ballot-marking machines. So have counties in much of Texas, as well as California’s Los Angeles County and all of Georgia, Delaware and South Carolina. The machines’ certification has often been streamlined in the rush to get machines in place for presidential primaries Ballot-marking devices were not conceived as primary vote-casting tools but as accessible options for people with disabilities.

One of the most interesting aspects of this, as pointed out by NOQ Report, is that Dominion Voting Systems has machines in more than one-third of the United States. They never had a lobbyist in Washington, D.C. until last year when they hired Brownstein Farber Hyatt & Schreck, a lobbying firm. One of the account's main supervisors is Nadeam Elshami, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) former chief of staff.

Whether or not this was a glitch should be investigated, especially when it comes down to swing states. Areas where this system is used to should have a hand recount so voters know their votes were actually tabulated correctly. A glitch in one county is probable. A glitch in multiple counties in multiple states sounds like it could potentially be a bigger systemic problem.

There is still a path to victory regardless of what the media is reporting. It's actually possible for Trump to "lose" the election and still remain president. All he has to do is use the courts to keep enough states from being certified by 12/14 and force house delegations to select the president. There will be major backlash against the Republicans if he does so and likely more violence in the streets.

I'd be fine if we just took the major wins we got with the four years we had, I'd also be fine with the lawfare option too. Both have pluses and minuses and it would likely destroy Trump's legacy and the momentum the R party has gained. It's a big risk, and not guaranteed to win.

Concerns Surrounding 2020 Election “Merit Serious Investigation”: Former NSC Official

As the results of the current presidential election drag out there are enough anomalies found in it “to merit a serious investigation,” according to Rich Higgins, former Director for Strategic Planning at the National Security Council (NSC).

Among concerns surrounding the election are “Twitter anomalies, the votes showing up in the middle of the night, the counts that go on forever,” Higgins said in a recent interview on The Epoch Times’ Crossroads program.

“There’s a lot of evidence there that requires further investigation” and there are constitutional measures in place to do it, Higgins said, state legislators can act if any violations or irregularities are found in the voting process but they will need evidence to do so.

Higgins would like to see the Trump administration provide “a more succinct and coherent messaging” about the election situation.

Specifically, Higgins would like the administration to tackle “the disinformation campaign that we’ve seen now going on for a year and a half from the media as it pertains to the election.”

“Of all the things that I’m most shocked about that I’ve seen in the past couple of days is the incessant media tipping of the scale through … the provision of narrative and one on one hand, and then the selective distribution of information on the other hand. … They’re not only lying to you, they’re also withholding information from you. It really is disgusting,” Higgins said.

Higgins Warned Against Deep State



Higgins was fired from the NSC in 2017 for issuing a memo (text published by Foreign Policy) that warned about a political warfare operation launched by entrenched bureaucrats in the U.S. intelligence community.

“The Trump administration is suffering under withering information campaigns designed to first undermine, then delegitimize and ultimately remove the President,” Higgins wrote in his memo intended for internal use only. His hope was that the memo “will help the president and understand what’s happened to him in a more full context.”

Higgins warned in his memo that these campaigns are not “normal D.C. partisan infighting and adversarial media relations … but rather political warfare at an unprecedented level that is openly engaged in the direct targeting of a seated president through manipulation of the news cycle.”

Higgins explained in the interview with The Epoch Times that by “political warfare” he meant the Maoist sense of the term.

Political warfare is a component of a Maoist insurgency concept. “Maoist methodologies employ synchronized violent and non-violent actions that focus on mobilization of individuals and groups to action. This approach envisions the direct use of non-violent operational arts and tactics as elements of combat power,” Higgins wrote in the memo.

The U.S. domestic political situation is completely informed by the Chinese strategic situation, Higgins said adding that China’s strategy behind One Belt, One Road initiative “is nothing less than the unification of the Eurasian landmass, under an economic Empire controlled by China.” China has a lot of allies inside the United States, Wall Street, and in American corporations.

This political warfare led to the growth of the Left inside the United States that infiltrated even the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI), the Department of Justice, institutions which “in the past would have been citadels of the West, citadels of Western civilization,” and nobody would expect having communist sympathizers inside them, Higgins said.

Higgins calls unelected bureaucracy that serves itself and is not beholden to American people—the deep state. However, he does not attribute such behavior to everybody inside the bureaucracy. There are thousands and thousands of patriots in the bureaucracy who are as frustrated as American people with leftist opposition and their politically correct thinking and decisions, Higgins said.

Higgins spent 20 years working in the bureaucracy but the transition of power after 2016 election was different, he said. The narrative about Trump campaign collusion with Russia was growing and was being pushed on, Republicans who were active in the Never Trump movement were finding their way into the administration, Higgins said.

It became clear to Higgins that an operation was being run and “the intelligence community had a direct role in it.” “The scale of it was so large … it wasn’t two or three rogue agents. … These were agency wide, inter agency wide efforts that have been undertaken,” Higgins said.

“I’m not even convinced it today, after a year, year and a half of investigation by [Connecticut U.S. Attorney John] Durham that they fully comprehend everything that took place under it because it was so you know, so large,” Higgins added.

During his 20 year tenure, Higgins first became concerned during the Bush administration, “ I saw an attempt to suspend reality, and to push narratives down into the decision making cycle to the point where they were impacting operations on the ground, frankly, getting people killed,” he said.

“That problem only became 10 times worse under the Obama administration, where to even raise your hand in question … a point of view was to find yourself on the out, pursued, investigated, throttled,” Higgins added.

Higgins has written the book titled, “The Memo: Twenty Years Inside the Deep State Fighting for America First” published in September.

Higgins wrote the book with an intention to show that he is not a conspiracy theorist, and how somebody inside the system with unique experiences who “had some really unique vantage points over the past 20 years, could come to be […] a red-pilled MAGA [Make America Great Again] patriot.”

I guess maybe you don't know much about how software works, is developed, coded, tested (hopefully), released, and installed?

Not saying this happened. I've no way of knowing. But it would be trivial to insert into otherwise legitimate software, code that could materially affect the outcome of an election. The people that install the new code can tell you whatever they want wrt what are the differences between old and new. And testing? Guess who designs, and often runs, the testing and validation procedures?

For a recent example: Just look at how close VW came to almost getting away with spoofing EPA testing regimens. And that didn't involve a clueless electorate and marginally-educated poll workers.

The truth of the matter is that our democracy has always depended upon there being a preponderance of integrity. A preponderance of people primarily concerned about preserving the republic and the public's faith in the system. An educated and informed electorate. These things more anything else.

The evidence suggests those conditions no longer obtain.
