Went into the local mountains chasing Fall color and came up on a large flock of sheep being moved down. There were a couple of Anatolian guard dogs with them, unseen Border Collies were herding.

You just slowly drive through:

One of the Anatolian:

The other Anatolian, he was flat out asleep until I moved forward:

One of the Anatolian:

Beautiful pictures. Sure that's an Anatolian Shepard? Looks more like a Great Pyrenees to me.
Either way, great dogs and great pictures. Thanks for all your contributions. I enjoy your
photography very much.

@omega5 I met the owner of the sheep and we were talking Border Collies and I mentioned having run across an Anatolian at another time. He told me he had 5 with this herd, so I assumed they were Anatolians. You could well be right, although another sheep owner that knew this flock didn't correct me.

I was just going by the face. Anatolians I've seen at Dog Shows and on some farm around here
have dark to black muzzles. Other than that, the breeds look very similar in a photo. My has a
Great Pyrenees and he's the sweetest polar bear you ever met.
Anyway, as I said, I enjoy your photography and have for several yeas.

Kruteaz Southern Cornbread, heated up the cast iron to 450, poured in the mix and 20 min later voila....

Goes nicely with home made vegetable soup that was simmering in the crock pot all day.

To heck with veggie soup. Break out the Soup Beans cooked with smoked ham hocks and fried taters. Some Texas Pete and diced onions with that cornbread and you have feast for the body and the soul!

Went over to a friend’s place today to put a few rounds through a Ruger No. 1.

It was about 45 degrees out, but the sun streaming through the trees felt warm and comfortable. It’s a great place to get away, sit, and think quietly for a while.
