What was your distance from the wolf and bear?
Also, what equipment where you using? I'm a camera geek!
Wolf and those bear shoots where anywhere from 100' to 300'. Those where shot at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. When we were there NatGeo was also their shooting footage. Apparently, they go there to get footage.
I have some bear shots from the wild but they were too far off to come out clear. Think 1000 yards plus or shot through a dirty window so again not to clear. On the bus, through Denali, a brown bear walked within 10' of the bus.
I used a Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 150-500mm lens. Lens decided to stop autofocusing just before the trip so I had to manual focus everything. I had heard you can never have too big a lens in Alaska. I can confirm that.
