I have a very basic reloading bench in my garage. 2x4 box with 2x8 top, and 2x4’s for the legs. With all my right arm issues: torn rotator cuff, tennis elbow and hand arthritis, seating a primer on a 550B required a good push and a good jolt of pain. So yesterday I screwed a cheap 2” L bracket to the legs and anchored them to the concrete with a Tapcon. Oh heaven. That table doesn’t move when seating a primer anymore.

I had a similar setup at our last house. Securing the bench to the wall took all the play out. Now, I have my 550b on an adjustable table that I can vary the height if I choose to sit or stand. That thing moves all over the place. While I like the variability, sure do miss the sturdiness…. I would do the same thing to that bench ugeesta. You’ll never notice a 3/16 Tapcon going right through the carpet. You’d need self tapping screws to attach it to the foot unless you put a strap over them. Obviously you can’t put a screw into the leg channel.

400m - Moved six months ago and just had my shop finished enough to allow me to start my reloading bench and work bench last week. The gray carpeted area will be my reloading area and the raw wood area my work bench. Trying to decide what to put at the transition area to maintain minimal separation between the two areas. Mine is a current work-in-process - My Frame is built with 4x4 legs, 2x4 and 2x6 framework. The top of the reloading bench consists of a solid top of eight foot 2x8’s topped with a 3/4” piece of plyboard. Finally, covered the top with indoor/outdoor carpet. Next comes rear shelving and then machine mounting( Dillon RL1100, Dillon XL650, Rollsizer Depriming Machine, RCBS Rock Chucker). I am a lot OCD so this is a slow process. As you can see the lower shelving is built with 2x8’s. This will be where I store my reloading supplies.

^^^^^^^. That's almost identical to mine, except I used 2x4s (two on the corners) rather than 4x4s. I like the idea of the carpeting. Might have to look into that. ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. Purchased it at Lowe’s for $0.63 a sq foot. Took $26 to cover what you see. Only disadvantage is that it only comes in 12’ width. Took the nematic stapler and stapled the heck out of it. Had on my last reloading bench and loved it. Also, the dark boards you see on the bottom shelf are a couple of old 2x12’s that were left by the construction company that were starting to split, so I use them as shelving material. The three-quarter inch ply board tops are dirty and discolored because they were previously warehouse racking at the company where I worked and they were throwing those out, so I grabbed them also. Wood is to expensive now days to walk away from if it is free.

There’ll be no anchoring that bench to the floor. That baby’s never gonna move. Very nice sigarms!

Yeah, they are heavy, but I still screwed mine into the walls. Just to be sure, you know… ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. The Founding Fathers gave us this tool to fix an out of control government and we need to use it.

Yeah, it’s not the floor movement, it’s the twisting of the table top. Securing to the wall would help. I’m okay with it for now cause I like the option of the height adjustment. I also found the farther left I put the press on the table, the more stable it is.
