The Lee Pro 1000 priming system is well know for causing people to swear.
I, too, prime separately.

Yep. I’ve tried all the recommended fixes and mine just doesn’t work well enough for me.

In fact for smaller batches of .38 special, .40, and .45 I just prime and load on the LCT even though it’s not as fast as a true progressive. But it sure does make things easy.

Loaded 300 .38 special MBC coated 158 SWC yesterday and it was a pleasure.

Someday I’ll win the lottery and get a 650 or 750.

So I got some fiocchi 12 ga shells and threw together some unique aa12 wads and a simple 69 caliber round ball I usually use for my Brown Bess....went to the range and was pleasantly surprised... Rey little recoil and accurate for a round ball...

Gonna go back tomorrow and try them at 50 and 100 yds.

Also patterned my Mossberg 12 with factory Winchester OObuck at 10 yards ..5shots- all on one 11x8.5 piece of paper at ten yards out of a riot barrel...

Reviving this thread, cause I’ve had plenty of time on my hands.

So today I cast 10 pounds of 158 grain 357/38 cast bullets...gonna powder coat them tomorrow with some powder another member sent me. I was gonna do that something like six months ago...

Sized a couple hundred 308's. Tomorrow I'll do the primer pockets, trim and chamfer.
I've been doing a lot with my Rock Chucker II lately and really enjoying the slower pace. I recently added an Inline Fab primer catcher to it and it works GREAT!

Changed the press over and loaded 500rds of 135gr 9mm.

Sorted and tumbled the last of the dirty 40 brass. Tumble 9mm next.

Thankfully I got a bunch of powder and primers 2 weeks ago, it will get me through the season and then some.

I managed to score some supplies from Midway USA delivered today. I never let the stores of primer and powder and bullets get too low have been reloading a long time now. I put together some 45-70 430 grain loads. The bullets are from Oregon Trail since bought up by someone. The box said 2014. I used IMR 4198 but had some IMR 4064 and IMR 3031 left over just happened to have more 4198. Our Idiot governor somehow managed to close our private club range till the end of the month. Not sure how that is allowed but was able to sight in these the last day and made up 100 more today. Something about the old straight walled cases with big old hard cast lead bullets. Generously lubed with Hornady one shot case lube they go through the 550b one at a time. No need to rush.

I too managed to fill in some of the cracks of the powder and primer stores. Didn’t realize was getting idiotic out there again until heard from Montana Gold owner Norm. First time buyers getting guns and buying up defensive pistol ammo. Glad I didn’t wait one doesn’t know how long this fear driven mania will last. I am betting that the ridiculous new urban village subdivision down the hill from me grinds to a halt as I predicted.

I loaded my last 40 Hornady bullets. I called Berry's Bullets and ordered 1,000 10mm hollow base bullets 155 grs. I have been wanting to try these in my P-220 10mm Hunter. Wink

DEC505,
I finally tried the red powder you sent me( I know, I’m the worst it was nine months ago) That stuff just works!!
I cast ten pounds of 357 yesterday and I was amazed how quickly the red stuck to the bullets.

I gotta order some of that off the internet!

Took advantage that an executive order might be coming today so I was at the range at first opening today testing loads before I'm told I can't leave home. The executive order came, but as far as I know, I can still go to work. I'll monitor my range website to see if they're still open. The have cancelled all matches for the next month or two.

Chronographed my 168 grain loads through the 22" LRB/Walther M14, and they're where they should be now. They were a little slow last time at 2550 FPS. I added half a grain.

FC-18 cases (Federal XM80 white box cases)
43.0 grains of IMR-4064
Remington 9-1/2 primers
Nosler 168gr Custom Comps (blem)

Average: 2645 FPS
Std Dev: 14.34
MAX: 2669 FPS
MIN: 2621 FPS
MAX spread 48

Also loaded up some 175's...
FC-18 cases
43.0 grains of RL-15
CCI BR-2 primers
Nosler 175gr Custom Comps

Average: 2572 FPS
Std Dev: 19.18
MAX: 2596FPS
MIN: 2543FPS
MAX spread: 53 FPS

I might add another 0.2 grains to the 175's and give them a little more gas. I will also start sorting cases now by weight to see if I can get the SD/max spread numbers down. I haven't yet resorted to sorting by water capacity.

I do the same thing with .223, I hate powder going everywhere when I forget to prime!

I swaged a couple hundred 5.56 brass and popped primers out of a few with my 4 year old.

No reloading, but I cleaned out the drawers under my bench for the first time in 30 years. Threw away a lot of oil samples and junk.

I found 8 pounds of Unique I forget I had . It was behind the case of self defense ammo on the shelf in the reloading room.
Nice surprise.

Shot/chrono'ed some loads that were made with Unis Ginex SPP. I haven't ever used these before and wanted to see how they compared to CCI, Fiochhi, and Winchester primers. All went bang and there was no appreciable difference in MV. They work pretty well.

Wednesday night I adjusted my XL650 to move from 115gr Montana Gold hollow points to 147gr RMR flat point billets for suppressed 9mm shooting.

Never fails, just as I finished up my test loads stepping up .2 grains of Unique between batches the indexer ring on my press broke. Emailed Dillon and got word yesterday that my new part was in the mail.

Oh well. For now I'm well stocked on 9mm and 5.56 bullets, powder for both, along with small pistol and rifle primers.
