Hi all. I'm fairly new to the forum.

I have a Blade-Tech Tek-Mount receiver which I use with a Velocity OWB Holster. I like both, but after not much time the release tabs of the receiver start to dig into my leg. It's uncomfortable.

Has anyone else run into this situation? I couldn't think of any adjustments that would keep some of the holster weight from pushing these tabs into my leg. As a last resort I'm thinking about trying to make some kind of attachment that would distribute the pressure that's originating with the tabs.

You might try looking at the G-Code RTI system for attaching the holster to a belt mount. I cant say if the RTI system will work for a Blade-Tech holster but its worth looking over.

Thanks. I'll check that out.

Is there any particular reason you're using a VPN?

I'm privacy conscious and would rather not have my ISP build and sell a profile of me.

I have, but don't recall anything about using a VPN. If it's an issue I can turn it off when using the forum.

By itself, it wouldn't be an issue, but when a member waits more than five years to post, it raises my suspicions. You seem like a reasonable person and I'll wager that you understand my concerns, even if you're not familiar with the specific issues at hand.

Discontinuing use of a VPN allows me to identify your location, to make sure it aligns with the location you've specified in your profile.

Your ISP may engage in the unethical practice of attempting to target you for marketing and profit, but I assure that SIGforum does not, has not and never will sell your data to anyone.

Understood. I see your point of view and it makes sense. You should see this post coming from my ISP issued address.

I checked out G-Code RTI but I couldn't tell if it would work. I ordered the Tek-Mount Valor Duty Loop Receiver from Blade-Tech and it is a much better solution for me. There are no protruding pieces to dig into your thigh. I tried it tonight and it is comfortable.

I wanted to post this follow-up just in case anyone else was in the same situation.

I'm wondering if it is the locking tab in the middle that is causing you discomfort. Consider rotating the entire mount 90 degrees sideways. I do that with the Tek Mount Minis to avoid dropping the items when I bend forward.

I know what you mean, but the locking tab is in the locked position and isn't in contact with my leg. It's the two locking tabs that attach the mount to my belt. They protrude about a quarter to half inch lower than the locking tab, and when combined with the weight of my pistol and holster, puts a lot of inward pressure on my leg. It's not bad for a little while, but gets uncomfortable after an hour or so.

Thanks for your suggestion though. I'm going to keep that mount as a backup.
