I had been ignoring this problem for some time but this weekend my wife snuggled up to me and my PPQ rear sight kind of got her a little.

I was thinking about doing some very minor smoothing with a diamond file and following that with some aluminum black to touch up. I don't plan to remove any more material than the sharp edges themselves. Anything wrong with this plan?

That was my thought, too. I assume the sorta sharp edges are desirable to make the sight picture clear and accurate. Quite a few of the sharp edges are actually at the 'funnel' at the muzzle end of the rear sight aperture. I dont think those are seen when sighting and don't need to be sharp at all.

I can't think of any edges or corners that need to be sharp and square on a rear sight other than the notch itself. (Discounting U-notch sights.) File away.
