Hey all, I'm curious to try a edc belt with a ratchet system. Anyone have any experience with either a Nexbelt or Kore? Any other brands out there that use that type of system? Thanks ahead of time. I can’t speak about the Kore but do have two different Nexbelt EDC ratchet belts. They are thin but stiff/rigid and do their job of carrying both IWB and OWB without sagging. I still prefer the look and feel of a quality traditional leather gun belt, but it’s impossible to deny the ratchet systems adjustability make it more comfortable and more precise. I also like the fact that I can let it out a few clicks when seated for long periods and then cinch it down a few clicks when I stand a real bonus on a long car ride. I have most of my traditional gun belts made with 7 holes spaced at .75” which still don’t get close to the precise sizing of the ratchet systems. I would select the belt that you like between Kore and Nexbelt and give one a try. I find myself using mine about 90 percent of the time these days. _________________________ "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last” - Winston Churchil

I have experience with both. Both use a similar ratcheting system. Both work well. But Kore is slightly higher quality in my experience.

I don't know who makes Carhartt's ratchet belt (Grok claims it's manufactured by Carhartt, themselves), but I picked one up on a whim at Bass Pro last summer and have been using it, on-and-off, since then. I'm pretty damn pleased with it. It's terrific for carrying my compact 1911s in a R. Grizzle GS2 OWB holster, along with a Magholder horizontal mag carrier. "America is at that awkward stage. I have a nylon and leather Kore gun belt and love them. Very comfortable and well made, highly recommended.

This one from Amazon works fine for carrying a small gun - G26 or CM9. And the price was right for trying out the ratcheting concept. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C2..._dt_b_fed_asin_title

Sure, why pay for actual high quality US products when you could instead just get a $20 Chinese knockoff through Amazon, complete with gibberish brand name, Chingrish description, and low effort AI-generated images. ![]() Better act fast, because "YOETEY" is sure to raise prices on their "X-Lagre nylon gun thickening treatment belt for mens" once they have to pay off that hefty new import tariff for their latest shipment coming from Yungxiangao. (But rest assured, based on the ridiculously amateurish AI generated product images, it's clear that the brave Tier 1 operators of DESTIIC rely on these very belts every day while protecting this great nation. So if it's good enough for these true heroes, it's more than good enough for you!) ![]()

I own several Nexbelt EDCs in various colors. Never tried Kore. Absolutely easy to fine tune waist adjustments but the weight and stiff hoop created by the unworn belt is a pain. Unworn trousers will fall on the floor if not balanced carefully on a chair, etc.. Nexbelts do not collapse flat like conventional belts when threaded through belt loops, due to their stiff construction. In time, you may adjust to this nuisance.

I have 2 Bladetech belts using the Nextbelt ratchet system. The good: the darn near infinite adjustability is awesome. Had a little extra for dinner, no problem, 1 or 2 clicks and your good. Sturdy enough for my 1911's and full size P320's, including an X5. The bad: I have the nylon/cordura. Very abrasive on your skin and belt loops at first. Takes a bit to 'break in' and smooth out. Good thing I only use them with jeans, they would probably eat through dress pants. The stiffener they use between the nylon layers have both cracked completely at the bend in the middle of my back. You know how you get that curve with leather? The stiffener doesn't curve, it cracks and it is visible. You don't feel it, but it looks crappy. I never bothered seeing if it was a warranty issue, they still work, just looks weird and I don't even know if it's noticeable when on as I can't see back there. I have considered the leather version, but worried if it cracks also it may not fair as well as the nylon. Tony

I prefer leather too, but the adjustability is why I'm interested in the ratchet belts. Thanks all for the replies. Now to decide what to buy. ---------------------------------- Don't believe everything you think.

Years ago I kinda laughed at a guy who mentioned he threads his belt the opposite direction each time he puts on pants. I started doing it when I got my Nexbelt and continue to do so. I imagine Kore is a very good belt but I'm so happy w/ my Titan Nexbelt I see no reason to change.

I have two belts of each prefer Nexbelt ratcheting system seems to release easier on the Nexbelts compared to the Kore. But it is only a sample of two. I hardly used either now have switch to the hunter constantine belts but it is not a ratcheting system.

My Kore belt is still going strong after ~3 years, my Nexbelt didnt start out as rigid as Kore and got less so over the year or so I used it.
