Holster Squeak

Holster Squeak
As I mentioned a comment or two above, I applied RenWax like Ryan said, to the area that was squeaking (which ended up being where the loop makes contact with the body of the holster). I put the gun back in the holster and moved it around a bit, and appeared much quieter than when I did the same thing before the wax application.
I wore the holster and gun around today and it was all perfectly quiet. Will I have to re-apply later? Don't know. But I will if I have to.

Great! Thanks for the feedback on the wax. I really hope this works for me as I like Ryan's holsters a lot.

Just wanted to follow up on this thread. I bought some Rennesance Wax as suggested by Ryan. I can say it did wonders for the noise. I do think it will need to be reapplied fairly frequently, but can't confirm that at this point. If you're having the same problem, give it a try. At this point I think my issue is solved.

Ryan gave the answer, and the proof is in the results so stated. Glad I read this thread. Thanks to Mr. Grizzle.

I use Renwax on some of my knives and guns, it's good stuff, inexpensive, and a little goes a long way.

I haven't tried it as lip balm but may report back this winter.

Just to add, Sorel Boots sells, or used to sell, small tubs of beeswax to keep the leather uppers waterproof. I would think that would work for leather holsters without causing any kind of corrosion to your pistol. If you happen to have that on hand already, it would probably do the trick as well.

I had that on and off for a bit... I think it was weather/humidity related. I do recall wrapping some parts in wax paper, wearing it around the house for a day and that worked.
