I use a Tenicor ARX OWB holster for CCW as well as range training. It pulls the 19 in very close to the body and was super easy to conceal as far as OWB holsters go.

"Due to circumstances beyond our control"...See my thread on the broken TV and efforts to replace it, and pardon my stealing the TV-related title of Edward R Murrow's biography, but my holster search is put on indefinite hold...due to financial circumstances beyond my control.

I looked at both Upper Hand and Tenicor's holsters and they both look good. I just wish it was possible to try them on at a store, like we could in years past. It seems unfair to the manufacturers, to order their product, try it out, then return it the next day and ask for a refund.

I guess it is, what it is.

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. I'll try again when the finances are improved.

I have never been an IWB fan. Having a gun shoved down in my waist was never comfortable, however I may have gone over to the dark side. I went out on a limb and bought an IWB rig from Gunfighters Inc. it’s made a believer out of me.

Hard to beat R. Grizzel Leather IMHO. I use his "Countryboy" for my G19. and a "Georgia Snap 2" for my P365.

Lots of good advice.

I’d suggest a couple of things. Holsters are a highly personal choice. Mostly leads to trial and error. I have holsters I like and I have a fleet of AIWB, IWB, OWB, and duty type holsters.

But, until I started carrying a 43x there wasn’t a lot of difference. And I don’t lose a lot of performance.

I can't afford to buy a bunch of holsters and leave most of them in the sock drawer.

Who am I kidding? I have a bunch of holsters in the sock drawer.

I was looking at one of the holster manufacturer's websites this afternoon, and I think it said returns are OK within 30 days, but only for credit towards purchase of another of their holsters. It was a manufacturer who doesn't sell through Amazon. I think I'll have to pass on their gear.

I have been carrying concealed for the last 33 years and find there is no way around an accumulating holsters. I started out buying factory mass produced DeSantis & Galco holsters which were very adequate while avoiding the real cheap Undle Mike’s stuff. Started ordering Milt Sparks in the early 90s and over the years have come to collect leather as much as guns. I have kydex too because it’s purposeful but, prefer leather for a slight edge in IWB comfort.

In helping a friend new to CCW, I have come to find what works best for me doesn’t work good for him. He’s cheap, has gravitated toward some less mainstream handguns and is a lefty. That makes finding used holsters nearly impossible to find or try out. Good thing for you is that you are carrying one of the most common carry guns on the planet. In addition, many G19 carriers have moved to smaller guns like the G43/43X or the P365 which means some are dumping holsters on eBay or Gun Broker.

I'll check Gun Broker later today. Thanks for the heads-up.

What are you carrying the 43x in?

For a similar sized pistol (xdm-elite compact 3.8" 10mm), I really like the Safarailand 5198 open top model.

It comes with the paddle and belt clip attachments, if the paddle fits you well it forces it to ride very close to the body. The belt attachments works pretty well too but not as high and tight as the paddle. Whenever I carry my pistols OWB I use this model holster (for my xdm-elite compact or my much smaller xds).

This is what they call for, for the Gen3-4 G19:
Model: 5198
SKU: 1150850
Part: 5198-283-411
