Minnesota – The courts have ruled against Minnesota and the Supreme Court let the lower court ruling stand so 18 Years old or older can now apply for a permit in Minnesota. As of April 21, 2925 18 years olds can apply. The Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus has put out info on the ruling you can read at the link below. With this ruling more states will be lowering their age to apply to 18 as the writing is on the wall now with this lower court ruling standing. The Supreme Court finally spoke up and other states will follow suit! https://gunowners.mn/our-progr...ermit-to-carry-case/
Minnesota – 5/2/2025 – Minnesota Has updated their Reciprocity listing online. They will now honor permits from the states they honor issued to those 18 -20. They have added some states they would not previously honor as they issued to 18 year olds. They previously only honored 20 states with some of them restricted as they wouldn’t honor any of that states permits issued to those 18 – 20. You can see their new listing with 33 states at the link below. The site has been updates to show theses changes.

Handgunlaw.us – There are numerous changes coming in the next few months with many updates July 1 as states are amending their firearm laws. Many for the better but some not so good. Keeping up with the changes is getting more and more time consuming so posting updates here will most likely slow way down in the future. I recommend you go to our updates page [ https://www.handgunlaw.us/updates.htm ] every once in awhile and check to see if a state you are interested in has had changes then visit that states page to see what has been updated. At the bottom of each document at Handgunlaw.us it gives the dates of updates and what sections were updated.

If you would like to help Handgunlaw.us drop us an email at admins@handgunlaw.us and let us know about changes in your states carry laws etc. Over the years that has been our best source of information as many keep track of what is going on in their home state and I answer every email. Do put something to catch my attention as we get a lot of spam. Handgunlaw.us is Free for everyone with no sign in required, There are no Ads of any kind and we has been that way for 19 years now. We do not make any money from anyone whose links we have on the site and put them there for those seeking more information. We don’t make money from clicks and we don’t collect any personal info of any kind. It will continue to be that way.
