Good movie on the life of Ayrton Senna. Lots of subtitles though. Also lets you in on how political F1 racing is. (well, all racing for that matter)

Yesterday would've been Senna's (59th, I believe) birthday. RIP The Senna film was a very good watch. May have to re-watch this weekend. The Enemy's gate is down.

There have been great strides in safety since then. Even without them, it was just bad luck. If the wheel had gone on a slightly different trajectory he would been only slightly injured. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Yep. Looking at how much of the driver is exposed in the above pic, as compared to the current crop of cars (Even just pre-halo). Just a perfect set of circumstances, for the Williams to hit the barrier at that angle/spot/etc for the wheel to come back in that way. The Enemy's gate is down.

Same with Marco Simoncelli. Some things are just freak accidents. This doc was great. Watched it last year. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I think this thread has morphed into a discussion on two completely different shows. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Yes, the Netflix one is a drama-metary[?] series vs the true footage doc of the OP. Both relevant to the subject though. The Netflix show looks to be really well done, hoping it lives up to the trailer. The Enemy's gate is down.

Even the old one had some drama thrown in, but captured the underlying story well. I don't have great expectations for this new version but hope I'm wrong, as Drive to Survive has done wonders for the visibility and popularity of F1. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I take it this is a new movie, but I humbly submit the 2010 documentary as a must-watch: https://youtu.be/QOQLeqRcgKc?si=OL4hBvv0iVsxnYVQ "I'm yet another resource-consuming kid in an overpopulated planet raised to an alarming extent by Hollywood and Madison Avenue, poised with my cynical and alienated peers to take over the world when you're old and weak!" - Calvin, "Calvin & Hobbes"

I'm 2 episodes into the new Netflix series. Pretty good so far. I watched the first episode in full English dub, and the 2nd in the 'standard' whish is all native, mostly English, with some Portuguese & Italian in it. I'm used to subbed shows, so I prefer the 'real' audio over the full English dub. A bit too much shaky cam/quick cuts for the 84 Monaco GP, but still well done. The Enemy's gate is down.

How was the series? I haven't had time to check it out.

I've got the last episode to go. Quite enjoyable IMO. Not sure how much dramatic license was taken with it, but seems to track with what I know of those years for the most part. Edit: Finished it tonight. Good finale. I think the documentary in the OP is probably better as a whole, but this series was good too. This message has been edited.
