This movie goes back to 2007 and i’ve seen it more than once (maybe more than twice), but I ran across it and realized I hadn’t seen it in quite a few years. It really is a good movie, it’s paused while my wife pulls supper together with just 25 minutes left, just before the meeting on the mountain. Here’s the scene that I imagine most of us think of first, Levon Helm as Mr. Rate from the “Patron state of shootin’ stuff.” He was captivating. and this trailer: _______________________________________________________ despite them

I enjoy that film, probably have 20+ times, entertaining, and that scene is well done, There was a guy in Russia. They locked his ass up. Another'n in France. I know he's dead. There was one guy, but he don't shoot no more. A brutal son of a bitch. Most boys shoot to kill. He'd shoot to wound, wait till his friends come to help, kill them too. Turned one target into four. Men, women, children. Killed them by the hundreds. The other side wanted him. Bad. Finally narrowed his hide down to an abandoned six-story building. They quit the subtle tactics. They called in an artillery strike. Leveled a square block. Brought the building down on his ass. Some say he crawled out of there. Some say he died. Never heard from him no more. fuck me.... I met the guy.....

It was a horrible adaptation of the novel, yet it still works. The closing scene where he's driving that old car off in to the mountains, I made that drive a few weeks go, nice spot. Fun Movie. Kate Mara is a baddie. NRA Life Member Steak: Rare. Coffee: Black. Bourbon: Neat.

re Kate, yes, and purty too, re Marky Mark, he kinda plays all things the same, and for a movie that is really not that good, I seem to watch it whenever I stumble across it, https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

The book Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter is great. The movie is good. "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Yeah she’s purty alright, but Rhona Mitra, who’s also in this movie is drop dead gorgeous. _______________________________________________________ despite them

Good movie. Actually just picked up the BluRay at Half Price Books a couple weeks back it was in the clearance bin for $2.00. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. The movie was spoiled for me by having read Stephen Hunter's book--actually all his books--first. _________________________ “Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters. –Daniel Webster (1782-1852)"

THIS ^^^. Judged on its own, the movie is a typical action format. Its ok, better than the series they tried to pull behind it with Ryan Phillipe (?). That was just drivel. Its OK to watch on cable if its 2am and I can't find anything better. Against the book, it was a horrible adaptation of what may have been my favorite novel as a late teen. Read it multiple times. I was not impressed. Even saw it in theaters to give it its best chance. Paid like $5 to see it after work one Saturday while I was in college. I still feel like I'm owed a refund... I think setting it in the modern GWOT time frame was part of my problem with it, but I can at least give them that for ease of production. Just not a good debut for a character who should/could have been the basis for a franchise... A Perpetual Disappointment...

One of the few, if not the only time I can remember being angry at a movie. That ending was so F'ing stupid (firing pin thing) I couldn't believe I watched the whole thing for that.
